PSALM 2:7 – I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
Psalm 16:10 – For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; NEITHER WILT THOU SUFFER THINE HOLY ONE TO SEE CORRUPTION.
In the many Psalms composed by David it is sometimes easy to determine if he is speaking of himself or if the Holy Spirit is using David to describe the Seed of God, the future Son of God in the Bethlehem manger. Context and knowing the life of David from the Old Testament Scriptures is usually sufficient, but sometimes one must rely on how the New Testament writers interpret which one is being referred to in their writings.
DAVID’S BODY SAW CORRUPTION IN HIS SEPULCHRE AFTER DEATH
Acts 13:32-39 – And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers, [33] God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. [34] And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David. [35] Wherefore HE SAITH ALSO IN ANOTHER PSALM, THOU SHALT NOT SUFFER THOU HOLY ONE TO SEE CORRUPTION.
[36] For DAVID, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and SAW CORRUPTION: [37] But he, whom God raised again, SAW NO CORRUPTION. [38] Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through THIS is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: [39] And BY HIM all that believe are justified from
all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
JESUS’ BODY NEVER SAW CORRUPTION BUT WAS GLORIFIED AS GOD
Acts 2:22-36 – Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: [23] Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: [24] Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of
it. [25] For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved: [26] Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: [27] Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine HOLY ONE TO SEE CORRUPTION.
[28] Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance. [29] Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. [30] Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; [31] He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. [32] This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
[33] Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. [34] For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, [35] Until I make thy foes thy footstool. [36] Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, BOTH LORD AND CHRIST.
Luke 1:35 – And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
I John 5:7 – For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and THESE THREE ARE ONE.
John 10:30,31 – I and my Father ARE ONE. [31] Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
John 14:8-10 – Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
[9] Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us
the Father? [10] Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
Philippians 2:6-13 – Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: [7] But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: [8] And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
[9] Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: [10] That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; [11] And that every tongue should confess that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD, to the glory of God the Father.
Matthew 28:18 – And Jesus ca me and spake unto them, saying, ALL power is given unto
me in heaven and in earth.
Colossians 2:9,10 – For in him dwelleth all the fulness of
the Godhead bodily. [10] And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
Acts 4:12 – Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is NONE OTHER NAME under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Zechariah14:9 – And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be ONE Lord, and HIS NAME ONE..
PSALM 2:8 – Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
