The YNet article, which follows the Scriptures in our introduction, is a warning to Israel of a possible future war with its own non-PA Arab population.
When the final war of the Age of the Gentiles begins, Israel will be going internally against Hamas, Islamic Jihad, al-Aksa Martyrs Berigades, al-Qaeda, and its own Arab population, plus externally against Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Sudan, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Turkey, and Iran.
Israel will initially be driven into the Negev Wilderness, where one third of her survivors will remain trapped for some three and one-half years.
Zechariah 13:8 – And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left
therein.
Most expositors say that Israel flees to Petra, but Petra is not “therein” the land of Israel.
It is in Jordan.
Israel flees into the Wilderness of the Negev, where she remains for three and one-half years.
Revelation 12:6 – And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
Some three and one-half years after Jerusalem falls in the initial attack, Messiah defeats Israel’s enemies at Armageddon as in the days of old.
Zechariah 14:1-3 – Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.
[2] For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. [3] Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
This is the way that God fights and wins the battle of Armageddon, at which time Israel will call him their God, and He will call them his people.
Zechariah 14:3-5 – Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. [4] And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
[5] And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
Zechariah 13:9 – And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.
This is the picture of Jerusalem and Israel during the reign of Messiah over them and all the Gentiles.
Zechariah 14:8,9 – And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be. [9] And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one.

MK Israel Hasson (Yisrael Beiteinu (said on Thursday that in a “normal” country, former Knesset Member Azmi Bishara, would already be behind bars.
Bishara, who left Israel nearly three weeks ago, is under investigation for suspected collaboration with the enemy during the Second Lebanon War last summer.
“If we don’t wake up now, we will have to fight for our independence again very soon.
It will be a second war for independence against Israel’s Arabs who will be supported by Hamas,” Hasson said.
“A few years ago, the Balad movement was comprised of 200 intellectuals.
Today it has three Knesset members and an open relationship with Hizbullah and Syria while we are in a war situation. This is unheard of.”
Hasson blamed Israel for “turning a blind eye” to the MK’s connection with the country’s enemies, while Arab movements were publishing articles calling for readers not to accept Israel as a country for the Jewish people.
“Under the auspices of democracy … we are responding passively and facing the process of growing agitation amongst Israel’s Arabs who are not willing to accept the fact the country is a Jewish one.
“Qassams are fired at us, and we remain silent. Enormous amounts of weapons are smuggled into Gaza, and we remain silent.
The Arabs interpret this passivity as weakness.
“We must send Haniyeh a clear message: Gilad Shalit is to be released unconditionally and immediately. We’ve already paid the price by allowing the leaders to stay alive.
“If Gilad Shalit is not released immediately, we must collect that price from the commanders and leaders of terror by physically eliminating them, no matter what their position may be,” Hasson said.
