John 19:34,35 – But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out BLOOD and WATER. [35] And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.
Why was John so emphatic about making sure the world would be told the Seed of Genesis 3:15,21 was a sinless blood and water man who sacrificed himself in death for the sins of all who would put their faith in the BLOOD & WATER for a total sacrifice price for ALL their sins?
One of the first heresies slipped into local churches by a branch of heretical Gnostics under the spirit of antichrist. Actually, there were two major Gnostics clan branches. I will only deal with one of their heresies. John addressed this heresy in all his writings. I may deal with the second heresy later in this series.
I John 4:3,4 – And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. [4] Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
THE DEVIL HAS USED HIS DEMONIC FALLEN ANGELS TO SPREAD HERESY!
As we go through Scriptures describing this heresy, you will fins it makes two points:
IF THE SINLESS PHYSICAL BODY OF JESUS WAS NOT OFFERED FOR SIN, THEN THERE IS NO SACRIFICE FOR OUR SINS.
One branch of the Gnostic heresy taught Jesus was not a flesh and blood man. So there was no sacrifice of flesh and blood.
The Muslim heresy is much like it. It pronounces Jesus was the son of the virgin Mary, but he was not crucified. They believe Jesus was carried alive into heaven by Allah, and is still waiting to return to earth after their Messiah (The Mahdi) comes to produce war and chaos. They do not believe Allah ever had a son.
Please bear this in mind as you read the Scripture concerning Gnostic & Islamic Beliefs:
I John 4:3 – And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
I John 2:22,23 – Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. [23] Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
I John 5:4-12 – For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. [5] Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? [6] This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. [7] For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. [8] And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. [9] If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. [10] He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. [11] And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. [12] He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
II John 1:6-8 – And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. [7] For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. [8] Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
Galatians 6:7 – Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Colossians 3:23-25 – And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; [24] Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. [25] But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.
Revelation 22:12-14 – And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. [13] I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. [14] Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
Ephesians 3:21 – Unto him be glory IN THE CHURCH by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
