Colossians 3:23-25 – And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; [24] Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. [25] But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.
II Timothy 2:15 – Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
John 6:62,63 – What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? [63] It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
John 14:18-20 – I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. [19] Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. [20] At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
John 10:30,31 –I and my Father are one. [31] Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
John 4:24 – God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Colossians 2:9,10 – For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. [10] And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
Philippians 2:5 – Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
II Corinthians 11:3 – But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
II Peter 3:9 – The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that ALL should come to REPENTANCE.
Matthew 3:1,2 – In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, [2] And saying, REPENT YE: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Mark 1:14,15 – Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, [15] And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: REPENT YE, and believe the gospel.
Acts 20:20,21 – And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you PUBLICKLY, and from house to house, [21] Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, REPENTENCE toward God, and FAITH toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
Matthew 7:21-29 – Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. [22] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? [23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. [24] Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: [25] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. [26] And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: [27] And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. [28] And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: [29] For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. John 10:30 – I and my Father are one.
Jude 22-25 –And of some have compassion, making a difference: [23] And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. [24] Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, [25] To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
The fire is not “the fire” of Hell. It is the fire of punishment for “falling away” from the truth of the Word in apostasy.
Hebrews 10:30,31 – For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord SHALL JUDGE HIS PEOPLE. [31] It is a fearful thing to fall into THE HANDS of the living God.
II Thessalonians 2:3 – Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come A FALLING AWAY FIRST, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
The falling away, the apostasy, has been going on for a very long time. It has accelerated in these latter days. Countless changes in doctrine are now taught in church buildings and in the media across the earth. It is the responsibility of all believers to seek truth and avoid error from the hour they were saved to the day they draw their last breath.
Revelation 18:4 – And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not PARTAKERS of her sins, and that ye RECEIVE NOT of her PLAGUES.
Many daughters, after they leave home and grow older, have a tendency to look and act like their mother. Some ecumenical daughters are looking more and more like their mother.
The Apostate Mother Church and her churches, as well as Apostate Daughters that came out of her in “The Great Reformation” and have NOW become apostate from THE faith ONCE delivered to the early New Testament Churches, will be judged by God in the Tribulation Period prior to vials of his wrath. God used the Assyrian rulers to punish the apostate Northern Kingdom of Israel in 700 BC. He will use the Assyrian Antichrist from Greater Syria in this generation to punish the apostates in Europe, Africa, Eurasia, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. I believe this Syrian will eventually arise out of the old “Greater Syria” in the wake of the eventual disposal of President Bashar Assad.
Revelation 17:16,17 – And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. [17] For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
Matthew 24:35 – Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

WHAT IS THE NATIONALITY OF THE ANTICHRIST?
Part 5
May 3, 2003
Micah 5:1-4 – Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek. [2] But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. [3] Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel. [4] And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth.
These verses, exposited in Parts 1 through 4, were written more than 700 years before the birth of Christ. And yet they present: Bethlehem as His birthplace, His rejection as ruler over Israel, His last Passover in the daughter of troops Jerusalem, His head beatings by the troops of Pontius Pilate, Herod, and the High Priest, His rejection as the judge of Israel, His Father’s siege against Israel because of their rejection of the Son (which has lasted some 2000 years), Christ’s temporary rejection of Israel, His Second Advent as Messiah after Israel’s travail of 1260 days in the Negev Wilderness, at which time His brethren will return with Him to the nation of Israel, and the first 1000 years of His eternal kingdom, which phases into the final heaven age when the present earth and heavens pass away.
Micah 5:5 – And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.
Now, in verse 5, we find that “this man” will himself “be the peace” because He personally brings it in by Himself when he returns to be “great unto the ends of the earth” for 1000 years. “This man” who brings “the peace” of a thousand years is, of course, Jesus Christ. He is the primary contextual subject from verses 1 through 5. What happens to motivate His return to bring in the millennial reign is the movement of the Assyrian into the land of Israel. It is the final defeat and destruction of “the Assyrian” that will mark Christ’s Second Advent, and the beginning of His millennial reign.
When Micah wrote his prophecies the Assyrians had already driven into the northern Kingdom of Israel, and all that remained of Israel proper was its southern Kingdom of Judah. So what were the borders of the land of Assyria when Micah wrote the fifth chapter of his book? The borders of the Assyrian territory stretched northward from roughly where Ramallah is located in the West Bank to the present day southern border of Turkey, and eastward to the Mediterranean Sea to establish its western limits, then westward across the Euphrates River to the Tigris River north of modern Baghdad in Iraq. Technically, I suppose one might be able to say this future “Assyrian” might come out of southern Turkey, northern Iraq, or Lebanon, but since modern day Syria occupies some 85% of the area covered by the Assyrian empire at the time of Micah’s writings, I am persuaded the Assyrian antichrist will come out of Syria. The possible argument that Micah 5:5 was fulfilled during the old Assyrian invasion of Micah’s day, is thwarted by the context pattern of the four verses before it all still being unfulfilled at the time they were written, and then being linked contextually to verse 5 by “this man,” and “the peace.” Additionally, this argument is smashed by the verse that follows it.
Micah 5:6 – And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.
From the time of Micah’s writings to the present day, Israel has never “wasted the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof.” I will exposit specifically on both these locations in Prophecy Update Number 67, Lord willing.
The “Assyrian” of Micah 5:5 is not a European, an American, a Russian, an Eskimo, an Aborigine, an Ethiopian, or a platypus. He is an Assyrian, who becomes chief prince of the land where the descendants of Meshech and Tubal were dwelling when Ezekiel wrote his prophecies. I will elaborate on this in future updates, Lord willing. The expression involving “seven shepherds and eight principal men” is most assuredly an oft used Hebrew idiom. It was the Hebrew manner of expressing “more than enough.” Seven is the Hebrew word for “complete,” implying “enough,” and when “eight” is added to it, the expression means “more than enough.” When the Assyrian comes into Israel, and treads within its borders north of Beersheba for 1260 days, then Jesus will return to restore peace for 1000 years on this planet. Christ’s Second Advent is accompanied by some 5/6 of the Assyrian’s armies being destroyed by the brightness of His coming. His destruction of the Assyrian and his false prophet will make whatever force Israel is able to muster up in the Negev for the battle of Armageddon “more than enough.”
When the Assyrian sets on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, as the willful King of the North preparing to launch his final attack on Israel at the battle of Armageddon, he will be beyond all help by men and Satan.
I Thessalonians 5:3,4 – For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. [4] But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
Ezekiel 38:14-16 – Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord God; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it? [15] And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army: [16] And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.
Zechariah 13:8,9 – And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. [9] And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.
Revelation 12:6 –And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
Daniel 11:45 – And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
II Thessalonians 2:8 – And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
Revelation 19:19-21 – And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. [20] And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. [21] And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.
Ezekiel 38:22 to 39:2 – And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. [23] Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the Lord. [1] Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: [2] And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel:
Micah 5:5,6 – And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men. [6] And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.

One day of doubt
Op-ed: On Yom Kippur God reminds us that most atrocities are committed in the name of ‘justice’
Yair Lapid
September 28, 2012
More than anything else, Yom Kippur is a lesson in humility, because it not only demands that we ask for forgiveness, it also forces us to recognize that we make mistakes and that we are not as righteous as we would like to believe.
This demand is painful because it forces us to doubt ourselves. Admitting that we made a mistake is not our first instinct. Most of the time we prefer to walk around in this world with a high opinion of ourselves and believe that we are right and everyone else is wrong.
But God knows that He alone should be in charge of justice, because humans will eventually abuse it. Most of the terrible events in history occurred because people were certain they were right.
So once a year God reminds us that most murders, wars and injustices were committed by people who told themselves they were fighting for justice.
It may seem impossible in our eyes, but our worst enemies are also convinced that they are right. The human filth that surrounds us – Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, jihadists, al-Qaeda – if you hook them up to a polygraph and ask them if they are right, the needle won’t move when they say “yes.”
And when asked why they are so certain they are right, this despicable bunch will reply, “Because God told us.” Or as we say in the Middle East: “My God is better than your God.”
There is no point in telling them they are wrong and that they are merely trying to justify atrocious acts, but after thousands of years of blood and Qassam rocket fire it is hard to blame God for not trusting mankind. We have an innate inclination do bad things in his name.
‘Where did I go wrong?
Even within Israel we have dozens of versions of God: The god of the Ashkenaz ultra-Orthodox, the god of the hasidim, the god of the Lithuanians (who do not consider the Hhsidim to be Jews), the god of those who wear knitted kippas, the god of those who wear big white kippas and the god of those who wear their small kippas on the side of their heads.; there is the god of that hill in Samaria which must not be evacuated; the god of the Military Rabbinate, which buries Russian soldiers outside the cemetery’s grounds; the god of the Reformist women who want to pray at the Kotel wrapped in a tallit and the god of the religious Jews who want to throw stones at these women.
Shall I continue? There is the god of those who kiss mezuzot and those who pray at the tombs of the righteous; the god of the traditionalists who go to a movie immediately after Kiddush; the god of the ‘Taliban mothers’ and the god of Beitar Jerusalem fans, who will defeat the god of Maccabi Haifa’s supporters; there is the god of those who refuse to admit Sephardic girls to their schools because God (what God?) told them personally that is was okay to do so.
These groups are so different from one another it is sometimes hard to believe they are all part of the same nation, the same book, the same set of laws. The only thing they have in common is that they are all convinced their version is the correct one and that everyone else is talking nonsense.
Such arrogance.
This exaggerated pride is the reason we need Yom Kippur so much. So that all those who told themselves that only they understand God will have to ask for forgiveness.
Because the God of Israel decided to save us from our own weaknesses and gave us Judaism’s holiest day to keep us from becoming the victims of our own hubris. He gave us one day a year on which we must stop everything and remind ourselves that no one is allowed to speak in His name.
God commanded us to put everything on hold and look at ourselves with courage and honesty. Then you will realize that I did not say any of those things, you did, He said. This is not my justice, but your self-righteousness. This is not a decree from the heavens, but your need to feel superior to others.
I will not allow you to use me, God said, to justify racism and sanction violence or use me as an excuse to unleash your darkest instincts.
Judaism is a religion of choice. That is part of its moral fortitude. But there is no choice without doubt. There is no choice without trying to understand the other side’s position as well. The ability to ask for forgiveness is also the ability to accept the other; to accept the fact that he is different and has his own justice. We ask forgiveness not only for our bad deeds, but for the fact that at the time we committed them we did not realize they were bad.
Why do we need a special day in order to look inward? Because normally we don’t. Because it is easier to tell yourself that you are right; that they don’t understand; that God told you.
But God did not tell you anything. Instead he sent us to synagogue on this day so that we will torture our souls with the question “Where did we go wrong?”
As I analyze this decree I am filled with respect for the divine wisdom. Because people who ask themselves, “Where did I go wrong?” are inherently better than those who tell themselves, “I am right!”
