LATTER – ARHARIYTH – The last or end, hence, the future, end time posterity remnant, or residue (Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance) Hindermost as opposed to foremost, the last or extreme past; oftener of time, end of a period, end of a period, the end of any course or event; the future especially in the prophetic formula in the last days. (Wilson’s New Old Testament Word Studies)

Some of the Bible prophecies written before David’s birth were fulfilled by David during his lifetime, and repeated or paralleled by Jesus as the descendant Son of David and the Son of the Living God. At times these prophecies refer to David alone, and in some they refer to Jesus alone, but in some cases they refer to both of them performing fulfillment of the same prophecy at DIFFERENT TIMES in a double jointed way.

Matthew 22:41,42 – While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, [42] Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David.
John 13:13 – Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.

Luke 22:70,71 – Then said they all, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am. [71] And they said, What need we any further witness? for we ourselves have heard of his own mouth.

BALAAM’S DOUBLE JOINTED PROPHECY OF DAVID AS JESUS is His prophecy in Numbers 24:14-19

NUMBERS 24:14 – And now, behold, I (Balaam) go unto my people: come therefore, and I will advertise thee (Balak) what this people (Israel) shall do to thy people (Moabites) IN THE LATTER DAYS.

Balaam was a prophet from Penthor on the Euphrates River and Balak was a king of Moab. Penthor was an ancient upper Euphrates city in the northwestern corner of modern day Iraq.

NUMBERS 24:15-17 – And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor hath said, and the man whose eyes are open hath said: [16] He hath said, which heard the words of God, and knew the knowledge of the most High, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open: [17] I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.

The Star descendant who arose from Jacob to bare the warrior Shield of Israel, and carried the Scepre as its King, was King David, ancestor of Jesus Christ, who is the Son of David and the Son of God, and meets the description of Isaiah in 9:6,7: “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and HIS NAME shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, THE MIGHTY GOD, THE EVERLASTING FATHER, The Prince of Peace. [7] Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” And in the verse 5 preceding it, it describes the zeal of the Son of God and descendant of David when he comes at his Second Advent as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Isaiah 9:5 – For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire.

Luke 21:26,27 –Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. [27] And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

Malachi 4:1-3 –For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. [2] But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. [3] And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts.

NUMBERS 24:18,19 – And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly. [19] Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion, and shall destroy him that remaineth of the city. (David fulfilled this prophecy as King, and Jesus will do the same thing at his Second Advent as Israel retakes the City of Jerusalem and Abraham’s God Promised Land Grant in Genesis 15:18-21.

Genesis 15:18-21 – In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates: [19] The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites, [20] And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims, [21] And the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.
