New World Record for European and Fatah Runners
The European Monitors and Fatah Presidential Guards set a new world record for the 1000 meters on December 14 at the Rafah Crossing as Hamas militiamen cheered them on. In fact, Hamas was so overjoyed at the new flight record they tore down the terminal and blew a hold in the stadium fence, in the event a faster exit for future flight setting record attempts might be necessary.
The more elaborate titles the Palestinians give their supposedly most heroic military units, seems to be based on how fast they can take flight and hide when exposed to danger.
Knowing well my own trait to do the same, I would surely be given the most elaborate title among them.
The two DEBKAfile reports, an early and a later one, give the account of a developing conflict between the warring factions of the many terrorist elements of the Palestinian infrastructure.

Haniya, who has postponed his arrival to Friday, is accompanied by a senior Hamas military delegation led by Abu Obeida al Jerat who signed military pacts with the heads of Iran’ s Revolutionary Guard
s providing advanced training for Hamas terrorists.
DEBKAfile’s military sources say Israel should have prevented Haniya’s entry with his party, even without the cash, to prevent the Iranian military program from getting started in the Gaza Strip.

Mahmoud Abbas’ loyalists fired on Haniya’s convoy as it entered Gaza, killing a bodyguard, injuring five including his son. Hamas accused Fatah leader Mohammed Dahlan of orchestrating the attack.
Haniya returning from the two-week tour Thursday night was permitted by Israel to enter through the Rafah crossing minus the suitcases packed with an estimated $31m out of the quarter of a billion Iran donated to Hamas’ war chest during his visit to Tehran. Abbas’ presidential guard, Force 17, opened fire on Hamiya’s convoy as it drove through, further raising the pitch of the Hamas-Fatah violence sweeping the Gaza Strip since Sunday.
Abbas has promised a “speech to the nation” Saturday and is expected to call a new election and declare the Hamas government transitional. Hamas would regard this move as a casus belli.
Shops shut down in central Ramallah Friday against rival Hamas and Fatah processions exploding into clashes.
Thursday, hundreds of Hamas Ezz e-Din al-Qassam militiamen reacted to the Rafah closure by seized control of the Rafah crossing under heavy gunfire which put the European monitors and Fatah Presidential Guard 17 troops to flight. They then tore down the terminal structures and blew up the border fence. The compromise which let Haniya through was negotiated by Egyptian intelligence chief Omar Suleiman who guaranteed the cash from Tehran would be deposited with the Arab League in Cairo.
The Palestinian prime minister was accompanied on his tour by a senior Hamas military delegation led by Abu Obeida al Jerat, who signed military pacts with the heads of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards for them to give Hamas terrorists advanced combat training.
DEBKAfile’s military sources say Israel should have prevented Haniya’s entry with his party, even without the cash, to prevent the Iranian military training program from getting started in the Gaza Strip.
