Biblically speaking, there has always been the certainty of a final great Middle East war between Israel, the apple of God’s eye, and the non-Jewish nations surrounding it. But man does not know the specific hour, day, month, season or year it will actually begin. On the other hand, we are able to tell when the beginning of this war is “drawing nigh.” There is no question in my mind it is “drawing nigh.” Believers should be putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation, for God has not appointed us to the seven Revelation vials of His Wrath.
II Peter 3:1-4 – This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: [2] That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: [3] Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, [4] And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
I Thessalonians 5:4-9 – But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. [5] Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. [6] Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. [7] For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. [8] But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. [9] For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
Mark 13:33-37 – Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. [34] For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. [35] Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: [36] Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. [37] And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.
The (5 + 1) group, now negotiating with Iran are 5 Permanent Members of the UN Security Council: U.S, Great Britain, France, China, Russia, and the +1 is Germany, the non-member.
The world is headed for a future Middle East cold war between the “5 +1” divided into “The East” and “The West.” Their battle ship armadas will fill the waters of the Indian Ocean, the Mediterranean, Aegean, and Red Seas, as well as in the Gulfs of Persia, Aden, and Oman.
From the time the war begins the “5+1” will control the air space over the Middle East, and the waters around it. The West and the East powers will not fire on each other by command of their leaders. Israel and Islamic nations will slug in out in a vicious war on the ground in a non-nuclear conflict. A truce will be declared between Israel and Islam when Islam stops at Beersheba. The truce will last some 1260 days. Then Islam will invite Russia and all nations to come to help him destroy Israel in the Negev Wilderness.
Revelation 16:16 – And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.
Revelation 19:19-21 – And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. [20] And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. [21] And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

The Baghdad Talks – An Interim Report
May 24, 2012
By: A. Savyon and Y. Mansharof*
Following two days of talks between Iran and the West in Baghdad, reports have it that another round may be held three weeks from now in Geneva.[1] The following is an interim report on the Baghdad talks.
1. The Western Position
Sources in the 5+1 described the Western proposal as one that will “interest” Iran. No precise details about the proposal have been released, but, judging by Iranian responses to it, the West has apparently consented to low-level enrichment activities by Iran.[2]
The spokesman of EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton told the Iranian website Nasim Online that the current proposal package addresses the issue of 20 percent enrichment (apparently alluding to the suspension of this activity). According to the website, the continuation of the talks depends on Iran’s consent to this proposal.[3] The Iranian website Fararu reported that, according to rumors, the West requires Iran to halt its 20 percent enrichment activities and accept the NPT Additional Protocol – demands which Tehran firmly rejects.[4]
2. The Iranian Position
Tehran insists that the Baghdad talks are meant to address global issues (such as combating terrorism and drugs, the Syrian crisis, etc.), including global nuclear disarmament (rather than Iran’s nuclear program). This, according to Tehran, is because the nuclear weapons of the P5 countries constitute a threat to world peace, whereas Iran’s nuclear activities are a legitimate and inalienable right, and are aimed at peaceful purposes – as evident from Khamenei’s (nonexistent) fatwa against nuclear weapons.[5] This is the basis for Tehran’s counter-proposal, submitted in response to the 5+1 proposal, which Iran has described as “unbalanced.” Iran’s proposal calls for mutuality and Western trust-building measures as part of a reciprocal “step-for-step” process.[6]
3. Steps Taken By Iran In Lead-Up To Talks
According to information leaked from an upcoming IAEA report, published just prior to the commencement of the Baghdad talks, Iran recently installed hundreds of new centrifuges at the underground enrichment facility in Fordow. Iran itself announced a few days ago that 20 percent-enriched uranium plates have been installed in its research facility in Tehran.[7]
These two reports indicate Iran’s intention to continue its enrichment program without requiring Western assistance or permission. In fact, practically speaking, Iran is a “nuclear threshold state,” though the West is not eager to recognize it as such.
4. Iranian Statements Following First Day Of Talks
At the end of the first day of talks, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said that “the Iranian nation is continuing its rapid advance towards further achievements and towards the instatement of justice, [whereas] the oppression, arrogance, and violence front [i.e., the West headed by the U.S.] is facing weakness and collapse, regardless of its propaganda… The Iranian nation is optimistic about the future, and the horizon is smiling upon it…”[8]
5. Iranian Statements On Second Day Of Talks
When reports on the second day of talks spoke of a deadlock, Iranian news agencies lay the blame on the U.S., accusing it of preventing a solution. The Mehr news agency stated that the 5+1 had withdrawn from the “encouraging positions” it had presented in the Istanbul talks and had neglected the principle of mutuality agreed upon in those talks. Mehr reported that the sides were discussing the timing and location of the next round of talks.[9]
The Baghdad correspondent for Fars reported that “the 5+1 negotiation team and EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton… seem to be lacking an agenda. They are apparently playing for time and are not authorized to take risks.” [10]

[2] The Iranian daily Kayhan stated that the West’s proposal in Baghdad represents a withdrawal from its former positions, because Iran was previously required to suspend all enrichment activities. (Kayhan, Iran, May 23, 2012). This implies that the proposal allows Iran some enrichment activity.

US-Arab exercise drills Iran landing. Syrian rebels obtain German machine guns
DEBKAfile Exclusive Report
May 28, 5:59 PM (GMT+02:00)
The US-Arab Eager Lion 2012 exercise ends Wednesday, May 30, after 12,000 mostly American as well as Saudi, Jordanian, Qatari and UAE special forces troops staged three weeks of joint maneuvers in Jordan.
In the marine section, DEBKAfile’s military sources report, around 3,000 US, Jordanian and Saudi special forces troops of three battalions practiced landings on Jordanian beaches and the rapid seizure of fortified mountain bases and command posts on Jordanian terrain resembling the three islands commanding the Strait of Hormuz where the Revolutionary Guards have established marine bases and other parts of Iran.
The mountains behind Aqaba port soar to 6,000 ft.
Taking part were the US 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, Maritime Raid Force, the 24th Maritime Expeditionary Unit, the Jordanian 77th Reconnaissance Battalion and Saudi special marine forces aboard landing craft.
Their command post was set up aboard the new USS New York amphibious transport dock, which was sent to the Red Sea to boost American strength in the region with 700 marines aboard, landing craft and helicopters for dropping troops opposite land targets.
The command vessel and the exercise were clearly visible to observers from the neighboring Israeli port and resort town of Eilat.
In the ground section of Eager Lion 2012, large scale US and Arab special forces carried out practice operations backed by air and armored strength including assault helicopters in northern Jordan near the Syrian border.
DEBKAfile’s military sources report that Gen. James Mattis, head of the US Central Command, secretly visited both sections of the exercise. If President Barack Obama orders an attack on Syria or Iran, he will be in command.
Our intelligence sources in Washington report that, Saturday, May 26, the president turned down Gen. Mattis’s application for a third US aircraft carrier and strike force to join the USS Abraham Lincoln and USS Enterprise deployed in the Persian Gulf. Obama decided not to raise military tensions with Iran so long as Tehran is ready to keep negotiations with the six world powers going. Should they break down, he would likely reconsider.
Meanwhile, Eager Lion 2012 is an important adjunct to international intervention in the Arab Revolt and preparations for war with Iran.
Last Thursday, May 24, a Russian arms ship, the Professor Katsman, was detected approaching the Syrian port of Tartus. Although the crew shut down communications systems and crept forward in silence.
DEBKAfile’s intelligence sources discovered the vessel dropping anchor in the Syrian port Friday. Military equipment was then unloaded behind tarpaulin screens and transferred to waiting Syrian military truck convoys.
Our sources identified the cargo delivered as consisting of large quantities of artillery and tank shells as well as spare parts for tanks.
The North Korean arms ships Odai is also reported on its way to Tartus with hardware for the Syrian army.
Our military sources report at the same time that Syrian rebels have started using German HK MG4 machine guns in their attacks on Syrian military targets. These weapons are in service with the German Bundeswher. It is the first time German military hardware has been seen in the Middle East in the 67 years since World War II ended. It is not known how the Syrian rebels procured the guns and who is supplying them with ammo.
