The New Testament canon as it is now was first listed by St. Athanasius, Bishop of Alexandria, in 367, in a letter written to his churches in Egypt, Festal Letter 39. Also cited is the Council of Rome, but not without controversy. That canon gained wider and wider recognition until it was accepted at the Third Council of Carthage in 397 and 419.
Mohammad lived from 570 to 632 AD, so he had access to non-printing press copies of the Old and New Testaments. He probably composed the Koran during the last 30 years of his life.
Homosexuality is listed under the Old Testament Abominations
Leviticus 20:13 – If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

I am not a man who believes in physical gay bashing. Neither do I judge gays. I am no longer under the rule of the Old Testament Law, neither am I a judge of it. It speaks for itself to all men. I believe what it says concerning judgment by individuals. I leave my judgment of homosexuals in the hands of God and concentrate on my own lusts in the flesh, which keeps me occupied.
Romans 1:32 to 2:6 – Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. [1] Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. [2] But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things. [3] And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? [4] Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? [5] But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; [6] Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
Galatians 3:21-26 – Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. [22] But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. [23] But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. [24] Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. [25] But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. [26] For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
James 4:5-12 – Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? [6] But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. [7] Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. [8] Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. [9] Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. [10] Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. [11] Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge. [12] There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
Please understand that I believe homosexual practice to be clearly identified as sinful by the God I worship, and teach it as precisely revealed by Him in both the Old and New Testaments. God will serve as the judge of both heterosexuals and homosexuals.
I do not approve of the ungodly lusts in my own heterosexual flesh or in the flesh of the homosexuals.
James 2:10,11 – For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. [11] For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
Romans 7:23-25 – But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. [24] O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? [25] I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
Because I have considered all the Scriptures on the subject of homosexuality that satisfies my conscience toward God, I
have come to the following conclusion.
I preach against the practice of homosexuality as an abomination to God. Non-church members where I pastor hear what I preach on it, but I stay out of their private lives.
The New Testament took the physical death penalty off the table for homosexuality, except by the judgment hand of God, not by the hand of man.
However, I believe it is biblically wrong for national or state legislators to vote to make same sex marriage legal, and will continue to state my opinion to that affect.
I do believe in separation of Church and State and, for this reason, I have a right to state my opinion and vote against those legislators who vote for same sex marriages.

Four things that President Obama is trying to tell Black People

After making the historic decision to announce his support for gay marriage, President Barack Obama has opened up a firestorm of conversation within the African American community. So, in order to help us understand some of this a bit more, I thought I’d give the Dr. Boyce interpretation of what President Obama is trying to say to black people:
1) I knew you were going to agree with me no matter what I said: As your elected president, I don’t work for you, you work for me. If I’d instead come out and said “gay marriage is immoral,” I am entirely sure that Al Sharpton, Earl Ofari Hutchinson and every other Obama Administration evangelist would be making statements that support that decision as well. Your so-called leaders simply repeat what I tell them to believe, for I am the captain of all ships, even when I don’t care enough to occupy the boat.
2) I spoke up for the gay community, because they matter to me more than you do: I know you’re going to give me your votes, no matter what. The only thing I could do that would cause me to lose the black vote is to (as Professor Michael Fauntroy says) divorce Michelle and marry a white woman. My support from the black community is as solid as a rock, no matter what policies I choose to endorse, but the gay community threatened to abandon me if I didn’t give them my backing. By the way, Michelle may be coming to the Essence Music Festival, and I’ll be on BET next month. I’ll be singing Al Green when I get there.
3) I know you have no choice but to give me your vote: What are you going to do? Vote for Mitt Romney? Even Romney has come out and supported a gay rights agenda in the past, but he has little interest in doing much of anything for black people. You know you have no other political options and I know this too. The catchphrase for 2012 Obama-ites should be “I don’t agree with everything Obama does, but…..” That’s similar to Christians who sin all week and say, “but nobody’s perfect,” or the woman who loves a man no matter how many times he cheats on her. Being selective in what you see or don’t see is a critical component of any relationship that is devoid of mutual standards, remember that.
4) I know that many of you don’t like gay people, but that’s your problem: Some of you blame the HIV epidemic among black women on the gay community. Many black women can easily forgive a man for being a diseased philanderer, but they would never forgive that man for being gay. Well, if there is anyone who can help you realize that Civil Rights weren’t just designed for black people, it might be me. Please refer to point three to remind you of why I don’t care what you think on this matter. I support gay rights, some of you don’t. But the bottom line is that preferential treatment will always exist because you have failed to impress me as a serious political constituency. I won you over a long time ago.

Iranian Ayatollah: Homosexuals Are Inferior to Animals
At an April 16, 2012 cleric convention in the Iranian city of Qom, senior ayatollah Abdollah Javadi-Amoli spoke against homosexuality and the Western practice of legalizing gay rights. He claimed that homosexuals brought AIDS, which is a punishment for their sins, upon human society, and that, according to the Koran, they are inferior to animals, as are those who grant them legal rights.
It should be mentioned that, in Iran, engaging in homosexual relations is an offences punishable by death.[1]An Iranian website explains that, according to the Koran, an individual over the age of 18 who has been convicted of homosexuality by an Islamic court must be executed by burning or by being thrown off a mountain.[2]
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said in New York in 2007 that there are no homosexuals in Iran.[3]
Following are excerpts from the Ayatollah’s speech:[4]
Ayatollah Javadi-Amoli: According to the Koran, Homosexuals Are Inferior to Animals, as Are Those Who Legalize Their Rights
“…When a certain society commits a new sin, it brings a new agony upon itself. Problems like the AIDS [epidemic], and others like it, did not exist in history. It is not that they existed and people [simply] did not know the cure. Just as world events affect [humans], their actions affect the world and the events that take place in it…
“Lot said to his people: ‘You have committed sins unmatched in world history – [acts that have never been committed] in the animal kingdom, nor the demon [kingdom], nor in the [kingdom] of man.’ Even birds, predators, dogs and pigs do not commit such acts. According to the Koran, those who approve such actions in their parliament are inferior to animals.
“Man is not like an eternal angel, but must leave offspring. Allah almighty set marriage as the way [to ensure] human existence, and even made it pleasurable, so that man would enjoy it, just as He made eating pleasurable… Just as eating is necessary, and must be done in moderation, so is marriage necessary, and must be done in a reasonable manner…
The Koran… says of them [i.e. homosexuals] that they are inferior to animals. The Koran, the traditions, and the religious bans are what makes us human. True, we are not like the West in terms of industrial [progress]. But while they are more advanced [than us in this way], in terms of [sexuality] they are uncivilized. According to the Koran, their lives are lower than those of animals. Even dogs and pigs do not commit this heinous act (sodomy), which they legalize in their parliaments.”
