SEEING THE DAY APPROACHING IN THESE LAST DAYS – 1
Unbelief among Believers is a reason for Falling away from the Faith!
Hebrews 10:25 – Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and SO much the MORE, AS YE SEE THE DAY AS YE SEE THE DAY APPROACHING.
“Exhorting one another” – parakaleo – to call to one, call near, call for: every kind of speaking which is meant to produce a particular effect, e.g., exhortation, comfort, encouragement, – Bullinger’s Critical Lexicon of the Greek New Testament.
A believer is a soul that COMES to Christ for forgiveness of sins, and rests in the belief that Jesus has lifted the heavy burden of condemnation for sin it carries. and is GIVEN REST by faith in Jesus who took it’s sins in own sacrificial body on the cross.
MATTHEW 11:28 – COME unto ME, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will GIVE you REST. (This is the REST of SALVATION by grace through faith in HIM)
John 5:40 – And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. John 3:18 – He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 5:24 – Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
BELIEVERS ARE THOSE WHO COME UNTO JESUS AND ARE GIVEN ETERNAL LIFE, BUT IF THEY DO NOT TAKE HIS YOKE UPON THEM AND LEARN OF OR FROM HIM, THEY WILL FALL AWAY FROM “THE” FAITH BY UNBELIEF DUE TO FAILING TO BELIEVE WHAT JESUS GAVE THEM WHEN THEY CAME TO HIM, WHICH WAS NOT TEMPORARY, BUT ETERNAL LIFE. BELIEVERS DO NOT LOSE THEIR SALVATION BECAUSE OF THEIR UNBELIEF AFTER THEY ARE SAVED, BUT THEY ARE MISERABLE BECAUSE THEY NEVER FIND THE SECURITY REST OF THOSE WHO TAKE HIS FELLOWSHIP YOKE OF SERVICE IN “LEARN OF ME, FOR I AM MEEK AND LOWLY.”
MATTHEW 11:29 – TAKE my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye SHALL FIND REST unto your SOULS.
MANY HEAVEN BOUND BELIEVERS DO NOT FIND THE REST IN THE SERVICE YOKE BECAUSE OF HARDENED HEARTS OF UNBELIEF. IT EVEN TOOK THE DISCIPLES TIME TO FIND THIS POST SALVATION REST.
Mark 6:50-52 – For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid. [51] And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered. [52] For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.
John 20:24-31 – But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. [25] The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his h ands the print of the nails,
and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. [26] And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. [27] Then saith he to Thomas, reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. [28] And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. [29] Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. [30] And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: [31] But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
Hebrews 4:9-16 – There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. [10] For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. [11] Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
[12] For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. [13] Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. [14] Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. [15] For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. [16] Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
