“[JERUSALEM(JWN and agencies)—Defense Minister Ehud Barak told the World Policy Conference on Sunday that Syrian dictator Bashar Assad would last but a few more weeks in power before being deposed by his people, just as happened to other autocrats from Libya to Egypt.
Barak told the Vienna assembly that Assad’s downfall would be a “blessing for the Middle East]”

The dough is rising in response to Middle East Leaven, and is now beginning to fill God’s End Time Prophetic Mold!
God’s beginning of sorrows prophetic phenomena of earthquakes, pestilence, and famine are showing signs of growing birth pangs, and will soon fill the tribulation mold of Luke 21:25.
Luke 21:11,25-28 – And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
[25] And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; [26] Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
[27] And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
[28] And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
For the first time since I lived in the Middle East in 1952 and 1953, followed by many trips thereafter, the last one in 2009, I am watching leaven rise in the Middle East Prophetic Mold, heading toward filling the mold at Armageddon and the 2d Advent.. I believe it likely the initial attack against Israel, which causes the leaven to rise rapidly, is likely to begin at some point in time between 2013 and 2015.

Senior Al-Qaeda Operative: The World is on the Brink of Anarchy; The Mujahideen Have a Chance to Fill the Vacuum and Establish the Caliphate
On November 26, the jihadi website Shumoukh Al-Islam posted an article by senior Al-Qaeda operative ‘Abdallah Al-‘Adam, known as “Abu ‘Ubaida,” titled “The World on the Brink of Anarchy.” In it, he claims that the Arab countries will not stabilize but deteriorate into anarchy,
because the Muslims, and especially the Arabs, are not suited for democracy and can be ruled “only by force or through religion.” He also claims that the U.S. is about to collapse, and that its demise will generate a global economic crisis so severe that
it will pitch the entire world into anarchy. Abu ‘Ubaida advises the mujahideen to take advantage of the power vacuum that ensues throughout the world, and
to prepare public opinion for the coming of the Caliphate. He also advises them to prepare for the wars that will come by amassing weapons and turning their paper money into gold.

Barak: Assad will fall within weeks.”
He added that the intensification of the fighting in Syria means “the ongoing downfall of the Assad family that would lead to the end
of its reign.
“The Assad family and its faithful have killed more than 4,000 people in Syria to date,” Barak said. “The Arab League decided to impose sanctions on Syria and King Abdullah of Jordan also voiced his view with regard to the government there.
It is impossible to know who will rule Syria in the future, but in any event, it will be a blow to the axis between Iran and Hezbollah.”
Syrian troops killed at least 18 civilians in areas of the country where people were observing a general strike to protest the government’s crackdown on pro-democracy protesters, according to the opposition Local Coordination Committees in Syria.
In the South, meanwhile, hundreds of Syrian Army defectors fought loyalist troops, reportedly destroying three army tanks.
In response to the violence, the Arab League said it would meet in “seven or 10 days” to discuss the crisis in Syria. The economic sanctions endorsed by the Arab League are to take effect starting December 27.
In addition to discussing the situation in Syria, Barak called for tougher sanctions on Iran to dissuade it from its pursuit of nuclear weapons. He said the time is running out for diplomacy to get Tehran to abandon its weapons program, leaving the delegates to ponder what the alternative to diplomacy might be.
The World Policy Conference is a high level forum that is meeting for the fourth year in a row to discuss various challenges of governance. This year’s session focused on the Arab Spring, the governance of major catastrophes, the role of Europe as a laboratory of global governance, the future of the G8 and G20 as governance institutions, and the governance of African transitions.

Syrian troops ‘ordered to shoot to kill’
Human Rights Watch report accuses dozens of officials and commanders over crackdown, based on defectors’ testimonies.
Last Modified; 15 December 2011
More than 70 Syrian army commanders and officials have been named by former soldiers as having ordered attacks on unarmed protesters in that country, a US-based rights group says.
The report from Human Rights Watch names 74 commanders and military and intelligence officials as having allegedly “ordered, authorised, or condoned widespread killings, torture, and unlawful arrests” during the country’s nine-month uprising against President Bashar al-Assad’s government.
The group urged the United Nations Security Council to refer the situation in Syria to the International Criminal Court (ICC) and to impose sanctions against officials implicated in the report.
Those named should be investigated “for their command responsibility for crimes against humanity,” the report said.
Senior officials mentioned include Imad Dawoud Rajiha, the country’s defence minister; Imad Fahed al-Jasem el-Freij, the army chief of staff; and the heads of various intelligence agencies, Abdul Fatah Kudsiyeh, Jamil Hassan and Ali Mamlouk.
Syria‘s government has not yet responded to the report
