BE YE WARMED AND FILLED!

The current attitude of Syria and Iran reminded me of the attitude of a Christian who claims to be saved by grace though faith, but will let a brother-in-Christ freeze or stave to death.
The attitude of Syria and Iran is much worse. They give Hizbollah things that harm them, rather than help
them. They treat their brothers-in-Allah as instruments to be used to serve them and their goals, without regard to the price they pay for it.
James 2:15,16 – If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, [16] And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
Luke 11:11 – If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
Hizbollah is now suffering severe indigestion from the rockets and other military hardware given to it by Iran via Syria. But not to worry, they will give them some castor oil after Israel stomps them to powder, and then give some more rockets and military hardware for the time when they will be needed in a future Jihad.
Iran and Syria’s idea of protecting Hizbollah is to keep them from being completely destroyed, as the following article by Big News Network will attest.

Iran, Syria agree to Protect Hezbollah
Big News Network.com
July 19, 2006
Iran and Syria have agreed to work together to keep Hezbollah from being destroyed in its fight against Israel, Syria sources have said.
The sources, quoted in the Qatar newspaper Al-Watan, said the two governments have agreed that Hezbollah must not be defeated politically or militarily and they have agreed to do all they can to prevent such an outcome, ynetnews.com reported Wednesday.
Israel’s failure to defeat Hezbollah thus far is likely to cause the country to turn its sights on Syria, the sources said.
They said such a move would cause Iran to get involved militarily, forcing Israel to face a war on multiple fronts.
Israel sent a message to Syria through Jordan, warning the country against arming and supporting Hezbollah, a diplomatic source in Tel Aviv told ynetnews.com. The warning said Israel was aware of weapons convoys traveling from Syria to Lebanon, and that Damascus is frequently the site of meetings between Hezbollah and Iranian officials. The source did not confirm whether the message included a warning of military action against the country.

One of the things my carnal man taught me well in childhood was to be clever enough not to be caught.
And, if I was caught in a guilty group, I learned if I kept on accusing them of being more guilty than myself, it would benefit me in the long run. I could not help but think of that old carnal method of blaming others when I was as guilty as they were, as I read the following article. I think this comes under the category of the pot calling the kettle black.
What a tremendous gall, first, give Hizbollah thousands of rockets and Iranian military personnel to operate them, then, after Hizbollah uses them at Iran’s direction, and gets blown out of the water by Israel, then jump on the other Arab nations for not helping them.

Rafsanjani criticizes silence of Islamic states in face of Zionist Aggression
Tehran, July 19, IRNA
Iran-Rafsanjani-Zionists
Expediency Council Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani here Wednesday condemned the silence of Islamic states vis-a-vis the atrocities of the Zionist regime in Lebanon and Palestine.
Addressing the second day of a conference on Quranic convergence, he asked: “How is it possible that a Mu slim
country is attacked and destroyed while others look on in comfort?”
“Today the Zionists are attacking Lebanon with all kinds of modern weapons. How can the Islamic world, which is committed to Quranic precepts, remain indifferent and simply witness (the Zionist regime’s crimes?)” he again asked.
The EC chairman said Muslims and Islamic states are distancing themselves more and more from the Holy Quran, adding that “if the Islamic world had been obedient to the Quran, Palestine and Lebanon would not now be facing this tragedy.”
He expressed his regret that Islamic and non-Islamic states have not taken any step to end the Zionist regime’s massacre of innocent Palestinian and Lebanese peoples, alluding that “certain Islamic governments are defending special political interests” which keep them silent over Israel’s brutalities in the region.

The excerpts from the final Jerusalem Post Article included in this Blog give a brief summary of today’ s activity along the northern border of I
srael. If Iran and Syria are successful in smuggling more rockets into Hizbollah across the Syrian border, the conflict will naturally go on longer than Israel originally anticipated.

Three Soldiers Wounded, One Seriously, in Gunfights
Yaakov Katz, THE JERUSALEM POST
July 19, 2006
An IDF soldier was seriously wounded Thursday morning during clashes with a Hizbullah terrorist cell near Moshav Avivim on the Lebanese side of the border.
During an operation by an elite IDF unit inside Lebanon overnight, the force spotted an armed Hizbullah terror cell and opened fire.
The soldier was seriously wounded during the exchanges, and two Hizbullah terrorists were killed.
“We have a pre-prepared operational plan,” head of the IDF’s Planning Directorate Maj.-Gen. Yitzhak Harel said Wednesday. “We are already operating by land, air and sea and we plan to complete our plan until we have achieved our goal.”
The goal he said, was to “change the reality” along the northern border and severely impair Hizbullah’s ability to fire rockets at Israel.
IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Dan Halutz is known to be opposed to a ground incursion into Lebanon, which he has said would only be carried out as a last resort.
Harel said that while this possibility existed, the chances that the IDF would launch such an incursion were slim. But many experts believe Israel has little chance at eliminating the rockets unless it launches a ground offensive to push rocket launchers back so they cannot reach Israel. A ground offensive would be costly in terms
of casualties, officers said, referring to the clashes on Wednesday near Moshav Avivim.
Without a ground operation, counter-terrorism expert Boaz Ganor said, “It can be assumed that they [Hizbullah] will get new rockets from Iran and Syria.
I think they have room to breathe for weeks. If they get more supplies… it can last longer.”
Chief IDF Intelligence Officer Brig.-Gen. Yuval Halamish said Wednesday that despite the firing of 110 Katyusha rockets at Israel on Wednesday, the military had succeeded in delivering what he called a “significant blow” to Hizbullah. “We have struck some of their most strategic sites,” he said.
On Wednesday, IAF fighter jets and helicopters continued to strike targets throughout Lebanon, including the underground bunker in Beirut believed to be the hiding place of Hizbullah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah.
Senior officers said that air strikes had destroyed “about 50 percent” of Hizbullah’s arsenal, but that more time was needed to deal the group an unforgettable blow. “It will take us time to destroy what is left,” said Brig. Gen. Alon Friedman, deputy head of the Northern Command.
Syria, Halamish further revealed, tried again on Wednesday to smuggle weapons to Hizbullah. On Tuesday, IAF fighter jets struck four trucks in northern Lebanon carrying weapons transferred from Syria to Hizbullah.
