Threat Stage Over – Deterrence Factor Back in Israeli Military Actions!

The Jerusalem Post Article, which follows our narrative on the Middle East, gives a good account of the IAF and IDF activity in the current situation in the Gaza Strip.
After having observed the Palestinians in action since 1952, and all the terrorist groups in Israel following the 1967 War, I am convinced they only respond positively for brief periods to direct military action against their killing of Israelis.
I realize, as do the Israelis, that their military action may result in the young soldier’s death, but to negotiate with the terrorists for his release will only cause the terrorists to intensify their efforts to kidnap many others, knowing they can count on Israel’s same reaction.
If you were to say to me, “you would not feel the same way if it were your son, and you would be all for his release by freeing the imprisoned terrorists,” I can only say to you, “You are probably right.” But being a Vietnam vet, down deep inside, where my true reasoning processes live, I would know his release would lead to the death of the sons and daughters
of many other loving parents.
I know we are heading for the fulfillment of a lot of horrendous events, which I guesstimate may begin at some point in time between 2008 and 2012, but, as I have indicated many times, it is a guesstimate based on the events that have occurred in the last 38 years in the Middle East. I do know they must occur because I believe the word of God, but “when” will always be a guess. I can only tell you that everything I have seen in the Middle East since 2000 lets me know the time of fulfillment is not going to be in the far distant future.
The five following Scriptures are not far distant events.
Zechariah 13:8 – And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.
Revelation 12:6 – And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
Zechariah 13:9 – And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.
Jeremiah 30:7 – Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.
Zechariah 14:9 – And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one.
I suppose one might accuse me of having a fatalistic mindset, because I believe that no matter how this current episode in the Gaza Strip or any other episode turns out in the Middle East between now and the battle of Armageddon, the die is cast.
The Scripture demands it, and it cannot be broken.
If one does not believe the Scripture, it is possible for that person to believe true peace can come to the Middle East by some process of negotiation. But for me, the only way a peace of a thousand years can come to this chaotic world is by the Second Advent of Jesus Christ. If you think the world is chaotic now, wait until you see the last three and one-half years before Armageddon, which ends with Christ’s Second Advent.
Luke 21:25-28 – And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; [26] Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. [27] And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
[28] And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
Acts 2:19-21 – And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: [20] The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: [21] And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

PM: We won’t balk at ‘Extreme Action’
JPost.com Staff, THE JERUSALEM POST
June 28, 2006
While IDF troops were already establishing a foothold inside Gaza east of Rafah Wednesday morning, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said that Israel won’t balk at “extreme action” to bring kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit home, and that “IDF strikes would continue during the upcoming days.”
With that, Olmert said, “We have no intention of reoccupying Gaza, and we have no intention of staying there.”
“We have one objective – to assure the release of Gilad Shalit, and to bring him home healthy and safe,” he said.
Olmert reiterated Israel’s stance that negotiations with terrorists were out of the question.
The prime minister was also enjoying rare support from right-wing Opposition as a result of the military operation. Earlier Wednesday, NU-NRP MK Effi Eitam praised the military operation in Gaza, saying that the Opposition would support Olmert, “if he continues on the path of military action.”
“I hope the era of hesitation and threats by the government is over, and that a new era of effective military action has begun, which will return the deterrence factor to Israel,” said Eitam.
