According to this news account from Iran’s state-controlled Kahyan, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has told cheering crowds celebrating the 32nd anniversary of the Iranian Revolution that the Mahdi, the Muslim version of the messiah, is managing the Egyptian Revolution and global affairs, and that he will soon deal with the ‘child of Satan’ – the United States.

TEHRAN: President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Friday that a new Middle East is being created, that would be free of the United States and the occupying regime of Israel. He backed the Arab uprisings, but also warned Egyptians to be wary of America’s “friendly face.”
Massive crowds of Iranians, waving flags and chanting “Death to Mubarak” and “Death to America,” descended on Tehran’s Azadi (Freedom) Square. There, the president lashed out at
the West and the Zionist regime in a speech marking the 32nd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
“We will soon see a new Middle East materialize – one without America and the Zionist regime, and there will be no room in it for the World Arrogance,” Ahmadinejad told the cheering crowds, who gathered despite cold and cloudy weather.
He warned Egyptians that the United States had “adopted a friendly face,” saying that “we are friends of the peoples of North Africa and the Arab countries,” and to be watchful and united. “You will be victorious,” he said. He went on to express Iranian support for the uprising in Egypt, with which Iran has no diplomatic ties: “The Iranian nation is your friend, and it is your right to freely choose your path. The Iranian nation backs this right of yours.”
He urged the arrogant powers not to interfere in the internal affairs of countries like Egypt and Tunisia, saying that, “If you want people to trust you, first of all don’t interfere in their affairs, and that includes Tunisia and Egypt. Let them be by themselves.” He also asked of them, ” What are you doing in Afghanistan
? What are these military bases in the region for? Are you compassionate or just hypocrites?”
He argued that the West is deceitful in claiming that, with the two-state slogan, it can pave the way for the occupying regime of Israel to dominate the region.
He said that that United States is an “accomplice to the oppression of the Zionist regime,” and urged them to “come and take away the Zionist regime, which is the source of all crimes … take it away and liberate the region. Free the region and give it to the people and take this regime, which is the child of Satan (the United States), out.”
Ahmadinejad said that the world is witnessing a revolution managed by Imam Mahdi, the 12th infallible imam who disappeared in the 10th century and who, it is believed, will return to usher in a rule of justice. “The final move has begun … we are in the middle of a global revolution managed by the dear (12th Imam). A great awakening is unfolding. One can witness the hand of the imam in managing it.”
Despite rain and snow, the turnout was high at the mass rally marking the victory of the Islamic Revolution 32 years ago. Crowds of Iranians chanted pro-Egypt and anti-U.S. slogans as they participated in the anniversary, which was covered by 1,100 domestic and foreign reporters. Similar marches occurred in provincial areas and, in all, rallies were held in 850 cities and some 400 small towns and villages.
The 1979 revolution toppled the monarchy of Shah Muhammad Reza Pahlavi, a key U.S. ally in the region, ending 2,500 years of monarchial rule in the country.
Diplomatic relations between Tehran and Washington were broken off soon after, and remain so to this day.
“Death to America! Death to Israel!” chanted the crowd as they carried Iranian flags, banners and posters of the founder of the Islamic Revolution, the late Imam Khomeini, who led the uprising against the shah, and of the current leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
Elsewhere in his speech, Ahmadinejad insisted that the nation remains determined to continue on its nuclear path, and that Western countries should adopt a policy of coordination rather than confrontation.
“The Iranian nation will continue on its way, and it doesn’t need you (world powers),” he said, “Iran is now the most independent and dignified nation … its revolution was a great event in moving toward the summit of perfection.”
On Thursday, Ahmadinejad addressed foreign ambassadors and representatives, saying that Tehran had expanded its international ties based on the principles of justice, maintaining human dignity and love, and that its message to the world was of peace, comfort and purity.
“Today, divine and humane values are appropriate in global relations,” he said, “A shining future for the world would come to pass with general cooperation in its management, based on the principles of justice and spirituality, which is found in the perfection of human beings.”
The Iranian president also noted that the Islamic Republic welcomes every step toward establishing fair relations between nations.

I have taught for some 35 years the Antichrist would arise out of the Middle East Islamic World, that the 10 toes of Daniel 2, the 10 horns of Daniel 7, and the ten horns of Revelation 13 and 17 were all 10 Islamic nations, and the Antichrist would come out of Syria or Lebanon. I am even more certain of it now than when I started teaching it.
Revelation 13:1,2 – And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
[2] And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
Revelation 17:3 –So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
I believe the Seventh Head on the Beast of Revelation 13 and 17 is pictured as only one head, but it actually represents two Islamic Kingdoms or Caliphates separated by more than 1000 years. It is represented as only one head because it, unlike the others, which are different from each other in religious character, but the seventh heads have the same religious character. Both the seventh and eighth heads are Islamic. The Eighth head is the Resurrected Seventh head led by its King, the Antichrist, and it was pictured as the bleeding head on the seventh Umayyad Kingdom Beast, indicating it would be killed to come back to life as a second Caliphate Kingdom.
The seventh head on the Revelation 13 Beast had a wound by a sword that killed it, but
it miraculously came back to life on the Revelation 17 Beast, and the Beast took on the scarlet color of blood because the life is in the blood.
I also believe the Antichrist will identify himself to Islam as the 12th Imam returned after 1000 plus years to lead them to victory over all unbelievers.
Revelation 13:4-7 – And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? [5] And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. [6] And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. [7] And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
Daniel 7:25-27 – And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. [26] But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. [27] And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.
The 12th Imam of Islamic Belief
In both the Sunni and Shiite branches of Islam, an Imam is an anointed leader or ruler.
The Shiite branch believes an Imam is to be a prayer leader or cleric if the word is capitalized. Sunnis too believe an Imam may be a prophet; Shiites believe not all prophets can be an Imam but an Imam can also be a prophet. An Imam is said to be anointed by Allah and a perfect example of leading mankind in every way.
The Shiites believe only Allah can appoint an Imam and no man has the power to do so. The 12th Imam is said to be a descendent of the Prophet Muhammad, having divine status as did his succession of sons.
The 12th Imam is also called the Mahdi (guided one) and the Hidden Imam.
He is the Islamic version of the Jewish and Christian Messiah.
Among the Shiite it is prophesied that there is a coming 12th Imam who is the great spiritual savior. This Imam is identified as Abu al-Qasim Muhammad or Muhammad al Mahdi. He is said to have been born the son of the 11th Imam, Hasan Al-Askari and his wife, the granddaughter of an Emperor.
Most of the Islamic world identifies her Fatima, but a few call her Nargis Khatoon.
Most accounts of the story say that al Mahdi went into hiding as a child around the age of 5 years during 10th Century
as the first Great Islamic Caliphate died by the sword of the European Infidels. It said he has been ‘in hiding’ in underground caverns of the earth ever since but will supernaturally return just before the Day of Judgment. He will be a leader rising supernaturally from the 10th Century Caliphate death by the sword of Europe to become the eighth and last of seven other evil kingdoms kingdom before it on this earth. The Islamic Hadith lists some of the criteria for the Hidden Imam’s characteristics and timings as follows:
He will be a descendant of Muhammad and the son of Fatima
Will return just before the end of the world
His appearance will be preceded by a number of prophetic events during 3 years of horrendous world chaos, tyranny and oppression
Will rule over the Arabs and the world for 7 years Will eradicate all tyranny and oppression bringing harmony and total peace
Will lead a prayer in Mekkah which Jesus will be at his side and follow in
The 12th Imam theory plays heavily into the world’s current concerns with Iran. The Shiite Muslim President of Iran, Ahmadinejad, is deeply committed to the Islamic Messiah, al Mahdi.
There have been many through the years claiming to be the Hidden Imam but Ahmadinejad believes he is yet to come. He claims that he is to personally prepare the world for the coming Mahdi. In order to save the world, it must be in a state of chaos and subjugation. Ahmadinejad claims he was “directed by Allah to pave the way for the glorious appearance of the Mahdi”. This apocalyptic directive includes some very scary proclamations.
While Christians look for Jesus’ 2nd coming, the Jews await the Messiah and Muslims await the 12th Imam. However, of the three, Allah’s designated Mahdi is the only one who demands a violent path to conquer the world. Mr. Ahmadinejad, and his cabinet, say they have a ‘signed contract’ with al Mahdi in which they pledge themselves to his work.
What does this work involve? In light of concerns over Iran’s nuclear capabilities, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has reportedly stated Israel should be wiped off the map. He spoke to the United Nations in September ’05. During that speech he claims to have been in an aura of light and felt a change in the atmosphere during which time no one present could blink their eyes. Iran’s PM is also said to have spoken in apocalyptic terms and seems to relish conflict with the West whom he calls the Great Satan. This is while he proclaims he must prepare the world for the coming Mahdi by way of a world totally under Muslim control.
He is working hard to bring about the world-wide horrors that must be in place for their al Mahdi to bring peace.
The Umayyad Dynasty (Banu Umayyah), whose name derives from Umayya ibn Abd Shams, the great-grandfather of the first Umayyad caliph, was the first dynasty of the Muslim Caliphate, 660–750. The Umayyad Arab Caliphate is historically the sixth largest empire, the third largest contiguous empire and the third largest empire by percentage of world population (29.5%). Damascus was the capital.
Twelver Shi’as believe that Mahdi was born in 868 AD as Hujjat ibn Hasan ibn Ali. There is debate within the Twelver community who his mother is. Many believe his mother, Narjis (Melika), was a Byzantine princess who pretended to be a slave so that she might travel from her kingdom to Arabia. His father, Hasan al-Askari, is believed to have been the eleventh and penultimate Shi’a Imam. Shi’as believe that his birth was kept a secret due to the persecution that the Shi’a were facing during this time at the hands of Al-Mu’tamid, the Abbasid Caliph.
To support Mahdi’s claim, Twelver Shi’as quote the following Hadith: “I and `Ali are the fathers of this nation; whoever knows us very well also knows Allah, and whoever denies us also denies Allah, the Unique,
the Mighty. And from `Ali’s descendants are my grandsons al¬-Hasan and al-¬Husayn, who are the masters of the youths of Paradise, and from al-¬Husayn’s descendants shall be nine: whoever obeys them obeys me, and whoever disobeys them also disobeys me; the ninth among them is their Qa’im and Mahdi.” (These Hadiths are not recognized as authentic by Sunnis)
The eleventh Shi’a Imam Hasan al-Askari died on 1 January 874 AD (8th Rabi’ al-awwal, 260 AH) and since that day, his son Mahdi is believed by Shi’as to be the Imam, appointed by God, to lead the believers of the era. The most popular account of al-Mahdi in Shi’a literature is taken from his father’s funeral. It is reported that as the funeral prayer was about to begin, al-Mahdi’s uncle, Jafar ibn Ali approached to lead the prayers. However, al-Mahdi approached and commanded, “Move aside, uncle; only an Imam can lead the funeral prayer of an Imam.” Jafar moved aside, and the five-year-old child led the funeral prayer for his father. It is reported that it was at this very moment that al-Mahdi disappeared and went into ghaybat, or occultation.
The Occultation
Shi’as believe that, for various reasons, God concealed the twelfth and current Shi’a Imam, al-Mahdi, from humankind.
Period
The period of occultation (ghaybat) is believed to consist of two parts:
Ghaybat al-Sughra or Minor Occultation (874-939) is the shorter of the two periods, during which deputies of the Imam maintained communication to the rest of the world.
Ghaybat al-Kubra or Major Occultation began 939 and is believed to continue until a time decided by God, when the Mahdi will reappear to bring absolute justice to the world.
A caliphate, (khilaafah), is the Islamic form of government representing the political unity and leadership of the Muslim world. The head of state’s position (Caliph) is based on the notion of a successor to the Islamic prophet Muhammad’s political authority.
According to Sunnis he is ideally a member of the Quraysh tribe elected by Muslims or their representatives; and according to Shia Islam, an Imam descended in a line from the Ahl al-Bayt.
From the time of Muhammad until 1924, successive and contemporary caliphates were held by various dynasties, including the Umayyads (who were driven from Damascus to Córdoba), the Abbasids (who ruled from Baghdad and drove away the Umayyads from Damascus), the Fatimids (who ruled from Cairo), and finally the Ottomans.
The caliphate is the only form of governance that has full approval in traditional Islamic theology, and “is the core political concept of Sunni Islam, by the consensus of the Muslim majority in the early centuries.”
