Kassam (Qassam) Rocket Firings Renewed from Gaza Strip

The Aksa Martyrs Brigades of Fatah and Islamic Jihad renewed the fir ing
of Kassam rockets out of the Gaza Strip, breaking a brief silence on Gaza’s western front.
Just as Yassar Arafat and all those after him have been unable to control all the terrorist factions in Israel, so are the leaders of Hamas unable to do so. So it looks like we are back to the pre-beach death fiasco, in that the two other major terrorist groups, the Aksa Martyrs Brigades and Islamic Jihad are back on the Kassam trail.
The bottom line in all this remains the same – In 2008 all the terrorists will be completely w
alled inside the Israeli generated wall as tight as bugs in a rug inside an Israeli created state.
Once Israel has them all fenced in, then retaliation by the IAF will be horrendous and swift, to the extend that I believe whatever group of the terrorist thugs is running the “fenced in” government, should finally be able to stop the launches long enough for a temporary false peace to come in, prior to the launching of a Jihad against Israel from the north at some point in time between 2008 and 2012.
The following excerpts from an article by the Jerusalem Post Staff and the Associated Press give the current status of the Kassam situation in the Gaza Strip.

Hamas Says it is ready for the Renewal of a Cease-fire
JPost Staff and AP, THE Jerusalem Post
June 15, 2006
As Kassams reigned down on Sderot again Thursday, Hamas said it is ready to restore its cease-fire with Israel several days after calling it off to protest a deadly explosion on a Gaza beach.
But Ghazi Hamad, spokesman for the Hamas-led Palestinian government, said the offer was conditional on Israel accepting the Palestinians’ demand “to stop their aggression.”
“This is very clear for us. We are interested to keep the situation and quit, especially in the Gaza Strip,” Hamad said. “We are ready to do it, but (only) if the Israeli side has a strong intention to respond positively to the call … to stop their aggression.”
A sixth Kassam rocket was fired from the Gaza Strip into Israel Thursday afternoon, land
ing in an open field.
Earlier in the day one rocket hit the “Universe” factory in Sderot’s industrial zone, causing the roof of the factory to collapse. One man sustained shrapnel wounds to his eyes and two people were apparently suffering from shock.
The second rocket reportedly landed near the home of Defense Minister Amir Peretz, two others landed in an open field outside of the city, and a fifth reportedly fell near a kibbutz on the outskirts of Gaza.
Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for some of the attacks, while some reports said the Aksa Martyrs Brigades of Fatah fired some of the rockets.
Israel Radio reported that Hamas leader living in Syria, Khaled Mashaal, and Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh had ordered a stop to the rocket fire.
“We sent clear messages … and at the end the firing of the rockets stopped,” head of the Defense Ministry’s Political-Military Bureau, Maj.-Gen. (res.) Amos Gilad told Army Radio.
Gilad explained that Israel did not speak directly to Hamas officials, but that it was decided within the Defense Ministry to use diplomatic contacts to send an unmistakable message, which was passed on by a “trustworthy” third party to Hamas leaders.
Tzahi Hanegbi, Chairman of the powerful Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee in the Knesset, said Israel would avoid targeting Hamas members in response to the group’s decision to stop attacks.
“If Israel will see that there is something to this new policy, of course the reaction will be accordingly,” Hanegbi said.
