AN EXPOSITION OF PROPHETIC PSALM 2 – PART 1

Psalm 2:1,2 – Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a VAIN thing? [2] The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed,
“VAIN” in Hebrew basic root meaning: “an emptiness” which is worth nothing – Only Christ can fill the great emptiness in an unbelievers soul. Without Christ my life is worth nothing. (Strong’s Concordance)
These two verses of the 1000 BC prophetic Psalm of David were fulfilled when the kings of the earth, both Jew and Gentile Rome, took council together and crucified the direct anointed descendent of David, through both Joseph’s line in Matthew 1 and Mary’s line in Luke 3, the Son of David and the Son of God, the man Christ Jesus. The effect of their action, taken in the initial fulfillment, is still in the process of being fulfilled across the surface of this present day earth.
Acts 4:23-29 – And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them.
[24] And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is: [25] Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things
? [26] The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ. [27] For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, [28] For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done. [29] And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,
Jesus knew how the preaching the truth of the word of God to ungodly man would affect the majority of the world with the passage of time.
Matthew 10:16 – Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. [28] And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
[29] Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. [30] But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
[31] Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
[32] Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
[33] But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. [34] Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. [35] For I am come to set a man at variance against his fa ther, and
the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. [36] And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household. [37] He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of
me:
and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. [38] And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. [39] He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
There will be multitudes of souls in heaven, eternally saved by the grace of God in Christ Jesus, with little to no reward, because they refused to let him save (convert) the lives their sealed soul lived in the flesh by the same grace that saved their souls. They were judged by Jesus not worthy to live in the city of the New Jerusalem.
Luke 22:28-32 – Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations. [29] And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me; [30] That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel. [31] And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: [32] But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
Luke 14:16-18a,24-27 – Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: [17] And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.
[18] And they all with one consent began to make excuse. [24] For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.
[25] And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them, [26] If any man come to me, and hate not his father,
and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. [27] And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
Revelation 22:12-14 – And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. [13] I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
[14] Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
If you have been saved, then TRY to keep his New Testament commandments by
his grace, walking in his Spirit. When you stumble, and you will, God has provided his forgiveness by his grace in I John 1:8-10.
I John 1:8-10 – If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
John 13:34,35 – A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
[35] By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
