No Honor among Thieves – More Internal Pressure on Hamas
April 23, 2006
http://www.tribulationperiod.com/
With internal pressures within the terrorist infrastructure and external pressure from the international community, Hamas is being forced into the proverbial corner. This situation may spur Hamas to moderate its unyielding position against Israel temporarily and persuade the other extreme terrorist groups in Israel, behind close doors, to “cool it” for a common cause, the eventual defeat of Israel. Hamas needs a hudna to bring the other terror groups into a situation where, for a brief time, the clay and iron, of which the groups are made, can hold together for a goal they all seek, namely, the defeat of Israel.
If Hamas is not able to stabilize the situation, its government will fall, and whatever comes out of it, after all of this internal combustion, will seek to negotiate with Israel, taking what it can get while it can. We are headed toward a fence regardless of which way the wind blows in the Palestinian governmental structure. Israel is headed for a brief time of “false peace.” When the year 2008 reaches its zenith, the security barrier/wall/fence will have been completed, foreign troops will be out of Iraq, the Palestinian terror groups will be on the inside of the barrier, and Israel will be on the outside.
Security along the Israeli side of the barrier, and along its external borders with Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan, will be so tight a greased flea could not slip through, and Israel will finally have its time of a mindset of “peace and safety” among its Jewish population. I do not know how long this false peace will last. It will be a controlled peace, one maintained by the force and expertise of the Israel Defense Forces, and quite effective. Israel, as in many past episodes in its long history of conflicts with its enemies, will look to its own power
and that of its allies to defend itself, rather than turning to the Messiah of its God as a nation to deliver it from its enemies. And, as in the past, its enemies will overrun the land from Dan to Beersheba, and Israel will be driven
into the Negev. Some three and one-half years later the Messiah of Israel’s God will return and deliver Israel as a nation by his power.
My guesstimate, as to when this initial attack by 10 Arab nations is most likely to occur, is at some point in time between 2008 and 2012. The sequence of events from the time of false peace, followed by the Arab attack, to the end of the tribulation period is outlined in the following Scriptures.
I Thessalonians 5:3,4 – For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. [4] But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
Zechariah 13:8 – And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.
Revelation 12:6 – And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
Luke 21:25,26 – And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; [26] Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
Jeremiah 30:7 – Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.
Zechariah 13:9 – And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.
Luke 21:27,28 – And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. [28] And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
Zechariah 14:9 – And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one.
The following article from the Jerusalem Post is but one of the incidents showing the instability among the terrorist groups that Hamas is now forced to deal with as the elected Palestinian Government.

Groups of Fatah and Hamas members shot at and hurled firebombs at each other on Saturday after Hamas’s political leader abroad Khaled Mashaal accused Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas of being a “traitor.”
Three people were wounded in the clashes, which began with stone throwing.
Thousands of Fatah backers protested across the West Bank and Gaza throughout Saturday to demand that Mashaal apologize for his remarks.
