In yesterdays Blog regarding the time of Allied troop withdrawals from Iraq, two British newspapers indicated all foreign troops would be out of Iraq by the spring of 2007, but this one, from the commander of the British armed forces in Iraq, has their forces out within 2.5 years. This would mean they still might be there in part of 2008.

As I indicated in yesterdays Blog, the 2007 spring date seemed a tad early to me, and the 30 months from now estimate seems a tad late, so I will stick to my initial guesstimate of “before 2008.” And the British commanders use of the word “within” means he could happen anytime during the 30 month period.

The following article by the Jerusalem Post Staff gives the brief details of the commander’s statement.
