Ezekiel 38:1-6,13 – And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, [2] Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, [3] And say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: [4] And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords: [5] Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet: [6] Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee. [13] Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?
There is only one war coming in the Middle East, which will be separated by a three and one half year truce. This war starts at about the same time a great tribulation period of geological and meteorological horror comes on this planet. It will initially involve only Islam and Israel. After Israel has been driven into the Negev, a truce will be made through the United Nations. The truce will be broken by Antichrist as he influences the peoples now occupying the known world at the time of the writing of Revelation by John, and they will come against Israel at the final battle of the Age of the Gentiles known as Armageddon.
As a young man, living in the pre-Hal Linsey books age, I was taught that only one war occurred during the “latter days” before Armageddon. It was a war that began in the Middle East when the antichrist attacked the nation of Israel, and ended some 3 and ½ years later with the final battle of this age – Armageddon. But I now find myself surrounded by a large array of preachers and teachers who are convinced that the war led by Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and found in Ezekiel 38 and 39, occurs before the war that commences some 3 and ½ years before the battle of Armageddon, and that the antichrist is not Gog, but comes out the war led by Gog, and then leads 10 European Union nations against Israel.
They teach that when Gog and his armies come against Israel they will be slaughtered, and that Israel will be absolutely successful in thoroughly routing them. Perhaps I overlooked it, but in all my years of looking in many old musty religious archives, I never found a manuscript published before 1812 that taught there were two back-to-back wars just before the battle of Armageddon. It would seem to me that the arrival of Napoleon in Europe set
the stage for a shift from bringing the antichrist out of the southern flank of the old Roman Empire to a new scheme of bringing him out of the northern flank. This shift necessitated the invention of two wars. I do not believe the shift should ever have been made. I believe the initial attack will occur some 3 and ½ years before the end of this age at Armageddon. I always used the expression “some” because I am never been able to settle in my mind whether the initial attack will occur against Israel 1260 or 1335 days before Armageddon.
It may well be that the attack occurs some 1335 days before
the final battle of Armageddon, followed by a truce some 75 days later, thereby leaving Israel 1260 days in the Negev Wilderness before the final battle of Armageddon, which closes the Age of the Gentiles. It seems plausible to me that the many horrifying geological and meteorological events may not begin until Israel is pushed south to Beersheba about a month and a half after the initial Islamic attack. This may be the time a big part of the flood of Antichrist’s Islamic Army is swallowed up by the opening of the earth north of Beersheba, thereby stopping his initial thrust against Israel until some three and one-half years later.
Revelation 12:15,16 – And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. [16] And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
Ezekiel 38:10,11 – Thus saith the Lord God; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought: [11] And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,
Daniel 7:24,25 – And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings. [25] And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Revelation 17:12.13 – And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
[13] These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
I believe that the following names all apply to the antichrist: He is Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal in Ezekiel 38 and 39, the eleventh horn in Daniel 7, the king of the north in Daniel 11:40, the Assyrian in Micah 5, the seventh wounded head on the beast in Revelation 13, and the eighth head on the beast in Revelation 17.
The 3 and ½ year war in all the accounts follows a certain pattern from start to finish.
(1) The initial attack occurs, and is successful.
(2) After Jerusalem falls, and Israel is driven into the Negev
(3) The Lord leaves Israel in the Negev for 3 and ½ years.
(4) God protects Israel in the Negev during that period.
(5) Antichrist (Gog) attacks Israel in the Negev and God fights for Her
(6) The Lord leaves most of the enemy bodies on the hills of Israel at the final battle of Armageddon.

Daniel 12:7,12,13 (5) – And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
[12] Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. [13] But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.
Ezekiel 39:12 (6) – And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying of them, that they may cleanse the land.
Ezekiel 38:1,2 – And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, [2] Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,
Gog is a person, the antichrist. Magog is a land, the land of Magog. God tells Ezekiel to set his face against a person, Gog, and against a land, Magog, which is Russia. Gog is NOT the chief prince of Magog (Russia). He is the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. At the time of Ezekiel’s writings the descendants of Magog were settled in Russia, while
the descendants of Meshech and Tubal were settled in Syria. The antichrist will come out of Syria to launch the initial attack. Some 3 and ½ years later Magog (Russia) will come down to join him at Armageddon.
To make a long story short – I believe there is only one war, the war that begins when Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, attacks Israel, and ends some three and one-half years later when Magog (Russia), along with all of Europe, Eurasia, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, comes down to join him against Israel at the final battle of Armageddon – Only to find the bodies of their great armies end up as buzzard bait on the hills of Israel.
BUT AM I PREPARED TO BE WRONG
? CERTAINLY! WHAT WILL I DO IF THERE ARE TWO WARS? WELL, I WILL JUST SAY I WAS WRONG, AND WAIT FOR ANTICHRIST TO COME OUT OF THE FIRST WAR, THAT IS, IF I AM STILL HERE.
BUT WHAT IF THERE IS ONLY ONE WAR? WELL, ONLY ONE THIRD OF ISRAEL WILL SURVIVE, JERUSALEM WILL FALL, ISRAEL WILL BE DRIVEN INTO THE NEGEV, AND YOU WILL BE WAITING FOR AN ANTICHRIST THAT IS ALREADY ON THE SCENE, THAT IS, IF YOU ARE STILL HERE.
My advice is to be prepared for either eventuality, even one that may be quite different from how many of these verses are commonly interpreted. I think that falls under the category of “watching.”

Ahmadinejad: ‘The Zionist regime is a threat to all nations’

“The Zionist regime is a threat to all nations … it cannot tolerate the existence of any strong country in the region,” said Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Tuesday, according to Teheran news agency Press TV.
Ahmadinejad spoke after welcoming Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who arrived in Teheran Tuesday for a two-day visit.
Iran’s president praised Erdogan’s stance over the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, saying the Turkish leader’s “clear stance toward the Zionist regime has had a positive impact on the world of Islam.”
At an international conference in January, Erdogan strongly condemned Israel’s offensive in Gaza and the steep Palestinian casualties inflicted there. The Iranian leader is known for his anti-Israeli remarks since 2005, when he said the Jewish state should be “wiped off the map.”
Ahmadinejad lashed out at Israel, which is believed to have nuclear weapons, saying that when an “illegal regime has atomic weapons, it’s impossible to block others” from having peaceful nuclear energy.
The Iranian leader was echoing statements voiced by Erdogan in the Guardian on Monday, accusing the five permanent Security Council members of hypocrisy. While these countries put pressure on Iran, which does not have “a weapon,” he said, they themselves keep nuclear arsenals for military purposes.
During the Guardian interview, Erdogan also referred to reports saying Israel or other Western countries were planning to carry out what he termed a “crazy” attack against Iran in lieu of sanctions or negotiations.
“On the one hand you say you want global peace, on the other hand you are going to have such a destructive approach to a state which has 10,000 years of history. It is not correct,” he was quoted as saying, adding that Ankara was firm in its belief that Teheran’s nuclear program was peaceful.
Ahmadinejad reportedly suggested that if Turkey and Iran “reinforce their unity, they will overcome serious threats and make use of opportunities in favor of their own nations.”
In related news, Ahmadinejad announced on Tuesday that his country would persist with its nuclear program, despite international concerns.
His remarks were the first since a UN-backed draft was put forth aimed at easing tensions with the West.
Iranian State TV reported later on Tuesday that Teheran opposes shipping its full stockpile of low-enriched uranium at once, and seeks changes to the UN plan.
The demand for a step-by-step approach Tuesday came as the world awaited Iran’s decision on the plan, which seeks to ease Western worries about the country’s ability to one day create nuclear weapons.
According to an unnamed Iranian official cited on Arabic-language television channel al-Alam, Teheran will agree to the “general framework” of the UN-drafted plan, but will seek “important changes” in the deal.
The UN plan envisages Teheran sending out most of its low-enriched s tock
to Russia for further processing, which would reduce its stockpile significantly and limit its potential capability to build nuclear arms.
According to the plan, the higher-enriched uranium would be used to power a small medical research reactor in the Islamic republic’s capital.
Later on Tuesday, EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana, who has been playing a role in negotiations with Iran, said that “the deal was a good deal and I don’t think it requires fundamental changes.”
French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner also spoke on the subject, expressing concern over Iran’s strategy of delaying time and again its responses to world powers. “It cannot take forever.
We wait for answers,” he said during a visit to Luxembourg on Tuesday.
Iran’s stance on the plan has so far been unclear, and an official response from Teheran is expected on Friday.
Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki hinted Monday Teheran could agree to ship some of its low-enriched uranium to Russia for processing as reactor fuel – but also left the possibility open that Iran may snub the proposal altogether.
The remarks came as UN inspectors were visiting a formerly secret mountainside uranium enrichment site near Qom, south of Teheran.
