How ironic that AIDS, for which man has found no cure, came from “THE BEASTS OF THE EARTH” that were being slaughtered by man, should be killed by the virus which came from them.
The Lord has a way of using his own creation to fulfill his own prophecies.

For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences (loimos), and earthquakes, in divers places. [8] All these are the beginning of sorrows (odin). (Matthew 24:7,8)
In Prophecy Update Number 18 we conducted a lengthy discussion of why earthquakes, famine, and pestilence were, just before Jesus returns, according to the word “odin,” supposed to follow the pattern of birth pangs a woman suffers in child bearing. We demonstrated that, for the first time in history, when Israel became a nation, worldwide earthquakes were following such a pattern. But what about Matthew’s “pestilence?” Is it following the pattern of a woman’s birth travail for the first time since Jesus prophesied it would? Absolutely! The basic root meaning of the word “loimos,” translated “pestilence,” is simply “any deadly infectious disorder.” Many plagues have passed through mankind since the fall, but none have generated a massive epidemic that was continuously accelerating over a long period of time. These “loimos” have never been able to follow the pattern of a woman’s birth pains for very long on a worldwide basis. Cholera, small pox, typhoid, bubonic plague, and so on, have appeared in short spurts like false labor, but none has ever maintained a persistent, ever increasing, epidemic characteristic with seemingly no end.
But now, for the first time, we have a “loimos,” a deadly infectious disorder, that has portrayed these characteristics from its inception. The HIV virus is the first to perfectly match the pattern of a woman’s birth pangs, and it will continue to do so until the travail of the woman Israel ends, and the Son she rejected arrives. at has swept across the globe like wildfire. HIV cases worldwide increased from a trace in 1980 to more than 5 million in 1985, to more than 10 million in 1990, to more than 20 million in 1995, and to a whopping 35 million in 2000. AIDS, the dreadful blossom of HIV, was first reported in a British sailor, who died in England in 1959. HIV has hardest hit Africa up to this point, but it is poised to spread into Asia and the former Soviet Union as an ever-increasing storm. And, in truth, medical researchers seem no closer to fining a cure than they were twenty years ago.
Are there other “loimos” infections that have also started to demonstrate the patterns of a woman’s birth pangs? Yes! The World Health Organization (WHO) fears that tuberculosis may kill 30 million worldwide during the next decade. The emergence of drug-resistant strains, and the spread of HIV have both hampered efforts by health agencies to slow the renewed spread of the consumptive illness.
Another sort of “loimos” is malaria, which is on the rise around the world, and once curative treatments are losing their effect. It is a pestilence of global dimensions, and new strains are evolving that scientists fear will be untreatable.
But what about all the microbes generating all this pestilence, this “loimos,” these deadly infectious disorders, what are they doing, how are they behaving
? Are they doing something that will make the pestilences continue to act like a woman’s birth pangs through the tribulation period
? Yes! A leading national magazine cover, back in the last century, carried the bold print title: “REVENGE OF THE KILLER MICROBES – IS MANKIND NOW LOSING THE WAR AGAINST INFECTIOUS DISEASES?” Tuft’s Levy answered the question in Newsweek Magazine by stating: “The rise of drug-resistant germs is unparalleled in recorded biologic history.” Because of this contributing factor, pestilence will become more and more widespread in its acceleration until the second advent of Christ.

[4] And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

Some seem to have the impression that these three riders pass their individual judgments on the earth, with each one departing the scene when the next one shows up, and then the last one, the pale horse rider death, departs the scene as soon as the fifth seal opens. I don’t know where the idea came from, but I am convinced that these three riders are going to be galloping until the end of the last 1260 days of the tribulation, and will be striding at their greatest pace at Armageddon. The red horse pictures bloodshed, the black horse represents famine, and the pale horse represents death. These three phenomena will be experiencing their peak occurrences during the final great battle of Armageddon. The “them” in verse eight refers specifically to the rider on the red horse (death by weapon of war), the rider on the black horse (death by hunger), and the rider on the pale horse (death by pestilence). By the close of the tribulation period they will have killed billions across one-fourth of the earth (the known world in John’s day). The word translated as “earth” is “ges,” and it does not mean population, it means “earth.” Many writers try to make this a fourth of the world’s population, but that cannot be the case, because “ges” never means population.

Scientists find new HIV strain

A woman from Cameroon has been found to be infected with an Aids-like virus that came from gorillas, French researchers have reported.
The woman, who has no symptoms of HIV infection, is well and was likely infected by another person, not an animal, the researchers said.
Their findings suggest this newly discovered gorilla virus is circulating among people, they reported in the journal Nature Medicine.
“We have identified a new human immunodeficiency virus in a Cameroonian woman. It is closely related to gorilla simian immunodeficiency virus and shows no evidence of recombination with other HIV-1 lineages or with chimpanzee SIV,” Jean-Christophe Plantier of the Universite de Rouen in France and colleagues wrote.
The 62-year-old woman was diagnosed in 2004, soon after she moved to Paris from Cameroon. Routine genetic sequencing of the virus showed it looked like no other sample of Aids
virus and it was eventually compared to a gorilla simian immunodeficiency virus, itself only discovered in 2006.
Aids, which has infected an estimated 33 million people globally and has killed another 25 million, has been traced to chimpanzees. Scientists say it likely jumped to people who hunted and butchered the chimps, which are the closest living genetic relatives of humans.
“Our findings indicate that gorillas, in addition to chimpanzees, are likely sources of HIV-1,” Mr Plantier’s team wrote.
“The discovery of this novel HIV-1 lineage highlights the continuing need to watch closely for the emergence of new HIV variants, particularly in western central Africa, the origin of all existing HIV-1 groups.”
The woman, a widow, herself had no contact with gorillas but said she had several sex partners after her husband died.
She remembered having been sick once.
When people become newly infected with HIV, they often have a fever and minor illness at the time but rarely know what it is. They are usually diagnosed later, after the virus has begun damaging the immune system.
There is no cure for HIV but drugs can control it for years.

Experts mobilise as deadly airborne plague shuts town

BEIJING – A town of 10,000 people in northwest China has been placed under quarantine after a man died of pneumonic plague and 11 others were confirmed infected with the deadly lung infection, health authorities said.
The 32-year-old herdsman died in Ziketan in Qinghai province. Most of the others infected are his relatives and are in stable condition in a hospital.
A team of experts has been sent to the area.
Pneumonic plague is spread through the air and can be passed from person to person through coughing, according to the World Health Organisation.
It is caused by the same bacteria that occurs in bubonic plague – the Black Death that killed an estimated 25 million people in Europe during the Middle Ages.
While bubonic plague – which is usually transmitted by flea bite – can be treated with antibiotics if diagnosed early, pneumonic plague is one of the deadliest infectious diseases. According to the WHO, humans can die within 24 hours of infection.
The Qinghai health bureau warned that anyone who has visited Ziketan and surrounding areas since July 16 and has developed a fever or a cough should seek hospital treatment.
