But it doesn’t say they really “have” It
It Simply States that Israelis are saying It
And later Sudden Destruction Strikes Them
Like birth pains initially striking in Childbirth!

I do not believe Israel will sign a peace treaty with Syria, Hizbullah, or Hamas. But I do believe we have come to the point where the Scripture which follows is being fulfilled, and it is just a question of time before the sudden destruction will come on Israel. That it is coming, I am sure, but precisely when I cannot say.
I will tell you that I believe Israel will be attacked at some point in time between 2010 and 2015, but I will also tell you that is a guesstimate, and though I am extremely confident the attack will occur during that time frame, I have to admit it is no more or less than an opinion.
I Thessalonians 5:3,4 – For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. [4] But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
At one point in my ministry I thought Syria and all the terrorist groups would finally realize the only way they could defeat Israel was to sign peace agreements, which would lull Israel into a false sense of security, thereby causing their enemies sudden attack to catch Israel by surprise, making it possible for Israel to be driven into the Negev. I no longer believe peace treaties are what will lull Israel into an attitude of belief they have “Peace and safety.” After watching Israel from the time of its pitiful little band of outnumbered, courageous, forces of 1948, I have watched them reach the 60th Anniversary of their first victory against overwhelming odds. But now they have become so secular in their ways as a nation, they have very little faith in the God who delivered them from Egyptian Bondage, and brought them back into the land promised to them through Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Their confidence is now in their own military might and a population of more than 5 million Jews. Political graft and immoral conduct among politicians in high places has become rampant, and now they are considering giving back large tracks of the land from Dan to Beersheba, which God gave them long ago in covenant promises.
I love Israel, and look forward to the day when all nations will look up to her as the nation of nations, after her Messiah returns to deliver her from the enemies that will surround her in the Negev. But, I am of the opinion her current relationship with the God of Israel is very much like Jeremiah described backslidden Israel just before God judged her and sent her into Babylonian captivity.
Jeremiah 5:20-31 – Declare this in the house of Jacob, and publish it in Judah, saying, [21] Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not: [22] Fear ye not me? saith the Lord: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it? [23] But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone. [24] Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the Lord our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest. [25] Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you. [26] For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men. [27] As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich.
[28] They are waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of
the needy do they not judge. [29] Shall I not visit for these things? saith the Lord: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this
? [30] A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land; [31] The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?
Israel is a nation that now is certain it can provide its own “Peace and Safety,” without God’s help. The only thing they fear is Iran getting off a nuclear missile warhead against them, and they have now grown to a high degree of confidence they can intercept it, and then wipe Iran off the map.
I now believe the attitude of Israel, that it can provide its own “Peace and safety” by its secular government, has come to the full, and that soon it will be shocked to see its forces defeated and driven into the Negev in a conventional war free of nuclear missile launches.

Exclusive: Serious falling-out with Washington over Olmert’s Syria talks

DEBKAfile’s Washington sources report that the Bush administration is “reassessing” its relations with Jerusalem over Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert’s decision to embark on peace talks
with Syria through Turkish mediators.
One US official called the move a “slap in the face” two weeks after President George Bush declared that America stood by Israel in opposing negotiations with “terrorists and radicals.”
Our sources report fears that Israel may find some of the benefits of America’s closest regional ally withheld for the remainder of Bush’s term in office – direct dialogue between the White House and prime minister’s office, intelligence-sharing, diplomatic coordination on Middle East strategy and other urgent business.
Israel’s defense establishment and military high command are concerned about possible delays in the flow of essential supplies of equipment. Olmert’s close aides, especially those involved in the peace talks with Syria, may no longer enjoy a warm top-level welcome in Washington.
According to a US official, who asked to remain unnamed, the decision to cool ties with Jerusalem followed the discovery by American agents in Turkey that Olmert’s senior advisers, Yoram Turbovich and Shalom Turjeman, and a Syrian delegation arrived in Istanbul for indirect peace talks. The two delegations stayed at the same hotel for three days and a Turkish go-between shuttled between their rooms.
Since 2003, it has been administration policy to isolate Syria and boycott its top officials for facilitating the flow of terrorists into Iraq, its efforts to destabilize the pro-Western Lebanese government and its close ties with Iran.
The Americans were particularly displeased when they discovered the identity of the Syrian negotiators: Riyad Dadawi, legal adviser to the foreign ministry and president Bashar Assad’s strategist for the UN-sponsored probe and future trial in the 2005 murder of former Lebanese prime minister Rafiq Hariri; and the colonel who liaises for the Syrian army with Iran’s Revolutionary Guards and the Lebanese Hizballah terrorists.
Three days after Jerusalem, Damascus and Ankara announced that peace talks had begun, the Syrian defense minister Hassan Turkmani landed in Tehran to boost military ties with Iran.
