Hamas leader in Gaza vows group will never recognize Israel
December 14, 2010
At rally marking 23 years since founding of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh says ‘Hamas will be the faithful guard of the Palestinian people’s rights and the basic Palestinian principles.’
Hamas will never recognize Israel, Gaza leader Ismail Haniyeh said Tuesday at a rally to mark the 23rd anniversary of the militant group’s founding.
“We say it with confidence as we said it five years ago when we formed our government, and we say it today: We will never recognize Israel,” Haniyeh told a crowd in Gaza City numbering tens of thousands.
A poster at the rally featured photographs of Hamas leaders assassinated by Israel in the last 10 years.
“Hamas will be the faithful guard of the Palestinian people’s rights and the basic Palestinian principles,” Haniyeh continued.
“We say today that there will be no occupati on of the land of Palestine and then we can say there is no future for the occupati
on on our land. I mean from the sea to the river and from Rafah up to Naqoora.”
The rally featured a scale model of Jerusalem’s al-Aqsa Mosque under a slogan proclaiming that “We Remain Committed to the Covenant.”
Hundreds of teenagers and children, wearing off-white uniforms and green caps, marched through Gaza City, whilst Hamas officials handed out chocolates and candy with a card saying it came from “Hamas with love.”
Hamas leaders and activists spent around two weeks preparing for the rally. Smaller gatherings were held all over the Gaza Strip last week.
“This year the rally is different from previous rallies.
We want to send a message to the world and to the Zionist enemy that Hamas movement is a powerful Islamic Palestinian movement which can never be uprooted,” a rally organizer, who gave his name as Abu Hamza, said.
Hamas was founded by Sheikh Ahmed Yassin in Gaza on December 14, 1987, several days after the first Palestinian uprising, or Intifada, broke out against Israel.
Yassin was assassinated by Israel in March 2004.
In 2006 the movement participated in the Palestinian legislative elections and emerged triumphant, defeating President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah party, which until then had been the natural party of Palestinian government.
The US and western countries placed Hamas under a diplomatic boycott because of its refusal to renounce violence, honor past Israeli-Palestinian agreements, and recognize Israel’s right to exist.
Fierce internecine fighting in June 2007, between Hamas and Fatah in the Gaza Strip, saw the Islamist movement rout security officials loyal to Abbas and the Palestinian Authority and seize control of the territory, and cause Gaza and the Fatah-run West Bank to be divided politically as well as geographically.
Attempts to reconcile the two movements have so far failed.
A Hamas communique distributed at the rally stressed that “armed resistance is a legal right for the Palestinian people and we will never abandon this legal right until all our land and all our holy sites
are liberated. We will never recognize what is called Israel.”
However, some Hamas leaders have said that while they will not recognize Israel, they are prepared to accept a temporary solution based on establishing an independent Palestinian state on the territories occupied by Israel in 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital and without settlements.

THE CLAY AND IRON ISLAMIC NATIONS WILL BOND TEMPORARILY
Daniel 2:41-44 – And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. [42] And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong,
and partly broken. [43] And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to a
nother, even as iron is not mixed with clay. [44] And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
BECAUSE GOD WILL PUT IT IN THEIR HEARTS TO DO SO
Revelation 17:12,13,17 – And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. [13] These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.[17] For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
MANY MODERATE ARAB NATIONS WILL FALL TO THE ANTICHRIST
Daniel 11:40-43 – And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
[41] He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon. [42] He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape. [43] But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and
the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.
AT THE 2ND ADVENT JESUS RETURNS TO DEFEAT HIM & HIS ARMIES
Revelation 19:19-21 – And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. [20] And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image.
These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
[21] And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

TV tells the Wiki-truth about the Arabs, Israel and Iran
By DAVID SHAMAH
12/13/2010 22:14
The bottom line is the Sunnis are scared of Shi’ite Iranians, which, it would appear, would be just another chapter in a history full of strife between the two groups.
We Israelis tend to see the Arab world as a unit; i.e., they all think the same, especially about us, which is true to some extent. Hatred – or at least denigration – of Israel is far more the rule than the exception in Arab media and Arabic-language websites.
But the rulers in many Arab states have a strong sense of self-preservation, and if they believe Israel can help them retain their hold on power, then they’ll work with it.
That’s been the theory until now in Israeli policy-making circles – and it’s a theory that’s proved true, at least when it comes to Iran. The regimes in the Sunni Gulf, Saudi Arabia and Egypt are all deathly afraid of Iran’s Shi’ite tentacles, according to WikiLeaks cables that have been published over the past several weeks: to the extent that some of them have even urged the United States to either directly attack Iran itself, or to encourage Israel to do so.
Why can’t they all just get along? The bottom line is that the Sunnis are scared of the Shi’ite Iranians, which, it would appear, would be just another chapter in a history full of strife between the two groups. But after having thoroughly studied TV broadcasts from the Arab world over recent months, I think it’s not the Shi’ites the Sunnis fear: it’s the Shi’ites’ fanatical resistance to modernization.
Although “fear of Shi’ism” and “fear of Shi’ite fanaticism” sounds like the same thing, it isn’t. The Egyptians, the Kuwaitis, Abu Dhabians and Dubai-ites would certainly consider themselves to be as good Muslims as the Iranians.
(Certainly, with a little goodwill, you’d think that the relatively small differences between Shi’ites and Sunnis could be bridged and a united Muslim front could be established.) But they can’t – and won’t – get together. Iran and the majority of the rest of the Muslim world want two different things. If Iran ever did get control of the Muslim world, the leaders of the Western-leaning states in the Gulf, Egypt and even Jordan would find themselves on the firing line. Not because they’re Sunnis, but because they encourage a Western lifestyle, at least to some extent, among their citizens.
And, the more Western-leaning the country, the
more likely it was to speak against Iran, as quoted by American diplomats in the Wikileaks documents. It’s a package deal: The more a Muslim country seeks to modernize, the more likely they are to speak out against Iran – and the more open their TV broadcasts.
Unlike in Israel or the US, most Arabic-speaking residents of the Middle East are treated to free TV broadcasts, via satellite. Of course, there are cable and DBS pay systems, but unlike many other places, residents of the Middle East can enjoy a rich diet of news, entertainment, movies and TV series – both in Arabic and English.
In fact, there are any number of TV stations, especially in the Gulf states, that could give YES and HOT a run for their money, broadcasting for free the same TV series and movies that Israelis have to pay to watch. The major satellites serving Arabic-speakers – Nilesat, Arabsat , etc. – carry about 600 channels, and each country’s stations have their own “personality” – with a direct correlation between the “modernity” of the broadcasts, the Western leaningness of the country, the fear of Iran by the country’s leaders, and their openness to dealing with Israel.
Here are some examples:
DUBAI
Without doubt, the most Western of Middle Eastern states, Dubai is home to the MBC network, the premier free-to-air broadcaster in the region, and perhaps the world.
While MBC is a private network, that an ostensibly conservative regime like Dubai’s lets it broadcast the latest American sitcoms, dramas and movies – with no censorship whatsoever (even rough language isn’t cut out) – makes it clear where the regime stands on the question of how modern Dubai should be.
MBC channels run commercials, many for Western products such as Ford cars, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Close-Up toothpaste and a host of others. If you turn down the sound, you will have a hard time believing you are watching commercials aimed at residents of a conservative Muslim country; none of the women are wearing veils (although some of the men are dressed in jalabiyas and the like), and there is plenty of physical contact between men and women.
Dubai’s leaders have strongly advocated US action in restraining Iran, and it’s wellknown that Israel and Dubai have pursued relations on an unofficial level for years.
EGYPT
Having signed a peace treaty with Israel decades ago, the Egyptians have stuck to the letter, if not the spirit, of that agreement.
But despite leaving much to be desired when it comes to our relations with them, Egypt most certainly would prefer Israel’s company over Iran’s.
As the most populous and influential Arab country with a substantial fundamentalist population, Egypt treads a fine line, and it comes off a bit more conservative than Dubai on TV. The country has only a couple of English-language free-to-air TV stations (one of them government-sponsored, with another dedicated to, of all things, horror movies!).
The Egyptian government runs the county’s main TV entertainment network, called Nile, which has a mix of comedies, drama and sports, depending on the channel. Here the actors are dressed a little more conservatively, and the shows appear to be homey-type dramas with original programming (in Dubai, Kuwait and other more modern places, many of the shows are from Turkey, dubbed in Arabic, and many are rather “racy”) that don’t fit the Nile formula. However, Egypt has several private networks as well, such as Melody Entertainment, which plays MTV-style music videos and Turkish dramas.
SAUDI ARABIA
You won’ t find much on official Saudi Arabian TV, o
ther than live broadcasts of services in the Mecca Masjid and Koran readings. But the largest entertainment network in the Arabic-speaking world, called Rotana, is owned by none other than Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal.
A media conglomerate, Rotana broadcasts everything from Western movies and TV shows (in cooperation with News Corporation’s Fox Network, a 9 percent owner of Rotana) to Western music videos and religious programming.
The Saudis were the ones that called for the US to “get Iran.”
I could go on, but you get the idea. When it comes to Iran, Muslim countries such as Egypt, Saudia Arabia, Dubai and others have much in common with Israel. And when it comes to TV, they have much more in common with our Western lifestyle than with the Iranian alternative. Who says you can’t learn anything from TV?

Arab racism VS Israeli worries
Sun Dec 12, 2010 1:43 AM EST
While anti-Israel bigots, Arabs, Muslims have for so long tried to cast Israelis’ legitimate concern over a growing racist Arab threat that seeks its annihilation – in a bad light, the recent phenomenon is that radical leftists inside Israel cast at times these worries and sub-sequenced defensive actions also with such bombastic -unfair- definitions, though their aim is political, the damage is simply horrific, nevertheless.
Now, why don’t we talk about the real racism in the area, outside or even inside Israel, the Arab racism of course, that which since (at least the 1920s) tried to commit genocide on the Jewish population and together with Islamic bigotry, these two fascisms motivated the expulsion of 1,000,000 Jews and the anti-Israel campaign.
The latter campaign has never been discontinued.
[Racism by Israeli Arabs include: creating – via intimidation and violence- an “off limits to Jews and “pure” Arab (areas) zone;
Arabs’ targeting of innocent Jews simply for being Jews is a massive rationalization for support of attackers in the Arab public.]
Recent Examples of Clips of Al-Awlaki and His Supporters
On November 8, 2010, Al-Awlaki appeared in a video instructing the mujahideen to fight the West. He added that there is no need for a special fatwa or for consultation to fight and kill Americans – since “killing Satan does not require any fatwa.”
The 23-minute video was posted on the Shumukh Al-Islam jihadi web forum, and Al-Awlaki spoke in Arabic throughout. The title of Al-Awlaki’s speech, “To Make [The Truth] Clear to the People and Never To Conceal It,” was taken from a Koranic verse in which Allah spoke to Muslim scholars and told them how to act.
The video was re-posted almost immediately on multiple YouTube pages.
Al-Awlaki Supports “The Blessed Operation” of Fort Hood
An August 14, 2010, the YouTube page of “TheSecretNews” posted an interview with Al-Awlaki by the Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) media foundation Al-Malahim, in which Al-Awlaki called on American Muslim soldiers to engage in acts of jihad and terrorism.
In it, Al-Awlaki said: “Yes, Nidal Hasan was a student of mine, and I am honored by this.
I am honored of the fact that the likes of Nidal Hasan are from my students. What he did was a heroic act, a wonderful operation…
I support what he did, and
I call upon anyone who claims to be a Muslim serving in the US army to follow in the footsteps of Nidal Hasan. Good deeds erase bad ones.
In addition, I call upon all Muslims to follow in his footsteps and wage Jihad by speech or by action. Nidal Hasan set a wonderful example…” Since August, this video has been posted on dozens of other YouTube pages.
In addition, some YouTube users have created videos on this topic in compliance with Al-Awlaki’s call.

Gaza Strip’s new housing projects not intended to raise living standards, but to ensure regime’s survival and motivate revolutionary zeal.
The Gaza Strip is doing well economically and the Hamas regime seems set to rule forever.
Money is pouring in from Iran, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Western donors, and Islamic associations. Even the Palestinian Authority directs millions of dollars (some supplied by American taxpayers) to the Gaza Strip for the salaries of 70,000 government workers, education and health and some of the electricity production costs.
“There are a slew of products here, and beautiful restaurants. Is this the Gaza we have been hearing about?” asked a Sudanese official arriving there, as quoted by
the Palestinian news agency Maan.
“Where is the siege? I don’ t s
ee it in Gaza. I wish Sudan’s residents could live under the conditions of the Gazan siege.”
There is massive construction going on, including rebuilding constructs destroyed in Hamas’s war against Israel last year. If Hamas were a normal government this would be great.
Such a regime would say: “We’re raising living standards, we’re increasing our popularity. Why should we be so foolish as to go to war against a stronger neighbor and see all of this destroyed again?” But, of course, Hamas is not a normal ruling group. It believes that God is on its side and wants it to fight. Hamas revels in martyrdom. It thinks total victory and the killing of all Israeli Jews is achievable. And it knows that the world won’t let it be thrown out of power no matter how many rockets and martyrs it sends into Israel.
AS A dictatorial regime, Hamas is locking the Gaza population into its patronage system so that people wouldn’t dare defy their rulers.
Here’s the main project: building 25,000 new housing units in the northern Gaza Strip, just west of Beit Lahiya. A business magazine explains that the neighborhoods will be named: the 72 virgins (waiting in paradise for believers), al-Buraq (after Muhammad’s horse that he rode to Jerusalem) and Andalus (after the medieval Muslim kingdom in Spain).
Let’s consider those names:
• 72 virgins: To remind everyone growing up there that they, too, can get six dozen virgins if they die while blowing up Israeli civilians.
• Al-Buraq: To remind everyone their goal in life is to fight so they, too, can conquer Jerusalem and travel to the Aksa Mosque.
• Andalus: To remind everyone that the Muslim empire will be restored, ruling not only Palestine but at least all the way back to Spain.
Economic development isn’t intended to make the people happy or raise living standards, but to ensure the regime’s survival and motivate revolutionary zeal.
Who gets the apartments? First in line are the families of martyrs, prisoners, and wounded fighters.
This shows the advantages of fighting for Hamas. The road to an apartment is not a good education or hard work but rather the willingness to die in battle.
Next on the priority list come young couples.
That’s nice, but it relates to the theme – which Hamas has voiced often – of maximizing population growth so as to achieve victory through overwhelming numbers and producing more fighters.
Only in third place come families who lost their homes during the fighting last year, which is the group you’d expect to have the highest priority.
Only those working for the Hamas government can get a bank loan; families of casualties can seek help from Hamas-controlled Islamic charities. The rest can take mortgages only from Hamas-dominated Islamic associations. You can bet that Hamas loyalists will always be put ahead of Fatah supporters.
That gives an incentive to switch sides.
Finally, the way the housing project is being laid out looks as if it is to form a barrier
to any future Israeli military operation.
It will create a dense network of narrow streets and buildings which can be easily defended by guerrillas likely to inflict more casualties on Israeli soldiers.
It is also a sort of architectural equivalent of a human shield, since Israeli forces would have to damage civilian apartments to engage Hamas men firing from them, which could be portrayed as a war crime.
At any rate, it should now be impossible to speak about the Gaza Strip as deprived or suffering, though I suspect that won’t stop a lot of people from doing so.
So Hamas is awash with funds, no doubt using part of the money for paying, training and arming its security men.
Unlike the Palestinian Authority, which rules the West Bank, however, Hamas is also putting in a tax system: value-added tax, income
tax, tax on gas and tax on all goods arriving from Israel.
Bottom line: Hamas will take its cut of everything coming in and everything going on.
It is a good thing that Gazans will have nicer lives materially. But the same process will ensure that they will not have a better life in terms of freedom.
With Hamas indoctrinating young people to become terrorists and suicide bombers, many of them will have shorter lives.
And since Hamas is just preparing for another war with Israel – or provocations that will eventually lead to war – those apartments might not be there forever either.

WikiLeaks exposes Obama
Op-ed: Leaked documents refute US President Obama’s fundamental assumptions
Yoram Ettinger
Published 12.09.10, 11:37
Recently published Wikileaks documents expose the failure of President Obama’s counter-terrorism policy.
While reaffirming a 1,400 years old Muslim track record, the documents refute Obama’s fundamental assumptions, which have shaped his counter-terrorism policy: that the Palestinian issue is a root cause of Middle East turbulence and anti-Western terrorism; that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are allies of the US; that there is no Islamic terrorism since Islam promotes peace and not terrorism; that there is no Jihadist terrorism since Jihad is a process which purifies the soul; that there is no global terrorism; that Islamic terrorists represent a Muslim minority which rejects modernity and that Islam has always been part of the American story
According to the documents, Islamic terrorism has afflicted the globe from Latin America through the US and overseas American targets, Western Europe, the former USSR, Africa, the Middle East (hitting mostly fellow-Muslims), South Asia, the Far East and Australia.
The worldwide proliferation of Islamic terrorism is orchestrated and executed, also, by multi-lingual graduates of Western universities, who proficiently use the Internet, Blackberry, iPod, Twitter and Facebook.
Contrary to Obama’s assumption, modern-day Islamic terrorists do not reject modernity.
In fact, they leverage modernity in order to advance Islam’s historical values and goals.
They believe that Islam’s destiny of religious and territorial domination of the globe is divinely-ordained.
And, they pursue their goals via violence, intolerance toward “infidels” and “apostates,” totalitarianism and “Holy Wars” (Jihad) against civilizations and entities that undermine their megalomaniac aspirations, which transcend the Palestinian issue and Israel’s policies or existence.
Irrespective of the Palestinian issue and the Arab-Israeli conflict, Muslim terrorists operate along the joint border of Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina, as well as in San Paulo, Foz do Iguacu and Parana, Brazil.
Independent of Israel’s policies and existence, the Lashkar-E-Taiba, Jaish-E-Mohammed and other Islamic terrorist organizations – operating with the backing of Pakistan – target India. Moreover, Lashkar-E-Taiba expands its presence in Pakistan – where it collaborates with the Inter Services Intelligence – Sri Lanka and Nepal in order to intensify terrorism in India.
Tailwind to terrorists
According to WikiLeaks – quoting a December 2009 Secretary of State Clinton memo – Saudi Arabia (especially), Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates are the chief financial supporters of global Islamic Sunni terrorism, such as al-Qaeda, Taliban and Lashkar – E-Taiba, raising funds for terrorism through seemingly philanthropic organizations during pilgrimages to Mecca.
The May 31, 2010 edition of The Sunday Times reported that Afghanistan’s financial intelligence unit, FinTraca, documented a $1.5 billion transfer from Saudi Arabia to Afghani terrorists, mostly Taliban.
The British daily asked: “One wonders how much of this money was used to buy weapons that killed 1,268 American soldiers and maimed thousands more in Afghanistan?!”
Undersecretary of the Treasury for Financial and Terrorism Intelligence, Stuart Levey, testified at an October 6, 2009 Senate Banking Committee hearing that “money is leaving Saudi Arabia to fund terrorism…Undoubtedly, some of that money is going to Iraq, to South-East Asia and to any other place where there are terrorists…”
For example, the Riyadh-based al-Rajhi Bank was implicated in funding the Islamic Chechen Mujahedeen. Saudi involvement in anti-Western Islamic terrorism was also reported in 2009 by Pakistan’s police, including a $15 million transfer to Jihadists who were involved in the murder of former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
A November 15, 2010 report by the US Government Accountability Office (GAO), a US Congress investigative unit, maintained that Saudi Arabia made progress in curbing terror-funding within the kingdom but did not cooperate in de-funding Islamic terrorism outside the kingdom.
Saudi-funded Islamic non-profit foundations – with direct and indirect ties to terror organizations – proliferate globally. The first foundation, the Muslim World League was established in 1962, five years before the Six-Day War, before the first settlement was established, while Jordan and Egypt occupied parts of Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and Gaza and the Palestinian issue did not preoccupy Western policymakers.
More Saudi-supported foundations followed, including the USA-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), the North American Islamic Trust (NAIS), the Holy Land Foundation (HLF), etc.
However, President Obama has overlooked the fact that those who finance and incite terrorism are more culpable than the brainwashed terrorists who execute terrorism. President Obama has subordinated counter-terrorism to wishful thinking, oversimplification, misreading of the writing on the wall and a series of wrong assumptions, such as a supposed linkage between the Palestinian issue and countering-Islamic terrorism and preventing Iran’s nuclearization. Thus, wrong assumptions have produced wrong policies, which have yielded tailwind to terrorists and rogue regimes and headwind to Western democracies.
