Through the flesh, many of God’s children of light are easily deceived by children

Iran’s nuclear swap option revived

Yukiya Amano, the new director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), has raised hopes that a “confidence-building” plan for a swap of nuclear material between Iran and a third party could still be salvaged.

At the same time, Amano used his opening speech to the Vienna meeting of the agency’s board of governors on Monday

to reaffirm that Iran hadn’t provided “the necessary cooperation” to confirm all such material in Iran is for peaceful activities. He did not, however, repeat a February 18 report about “the possible existence in Iran of past or current undisclosed activities related to the developmentof a nuclear payload for a missile”.

With regard to the fuel swap, Amano’s statement read:

In a letter to the agency dated 18 February, 2010, Iran said it continued to wish to buy the necessary nuclear fuel or, if this was not possible, to exchange some of its LEU [low-enriched uranium] for reactor fuel from abroad. Iran requested the IAEA to relay its request to potential suppliers and to facilitate the provision of the fuel. The agency circulated Iran’s letter to member states as requested. The arrangement proposed by the agency in October 2009 remains on the table.

I believe it would ensure continued operation of the Tehran Research Reactor and serve as a confidence-building measure. At the same time, I am following up on Iran’s February 18 request, in accordance with the IAEA statute, and have been in contact with the relevant countries.

Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki threw some weight behind Iran’s letter. “The issue of a swap, it is possible to be carried out,” he said at a press conference in Geneva on Monday. “The agreement could be made now, but the realization, the fulfillment of the swap, needs time.”

Mottaki has repeatedly stated recently that Iran is willing to ship some 400 kilograms of its LEU in two stages, under IAEA custody, provided there is a guarantee of delivery of fuel rods for the Tehran reactor by the other side. Seeking to address Iran’s concerns, the United States, Russia and France pledged to

the IAEA that

they would fulfill their commitment to the terms of the IAEA-proposed fuel swap.

According to unconfirmed reports, William Burns, the US’s point man in the Iran nuclear negotiations, carried a message for Iran in his recent visit to Syria that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad delivered to President Mahmud Ahmadinejad.

Reports of the message ignited the question of whether Damascus is now fully involved as a behind-the-scenes intermediary between the US and Iran. Tacit confirmation of the role could be taken from a semi-official commentator’s view in Tehran that “an exchange of views through third parties is not mediation”.

Thus the “Syria factor” in the Iran nuclear talks carries double significance. On the one hand, it bolsters US diplomacy indirectly, and on the other it adds to Iran’s leverage by essentially nullifying any US-Israeli hope of weakening Iran by wresting Damascus away. The Ahmadinejad-Assad summit put to rest any such illusions in the foreseeable future.

When the US is lobbying the Arab world for a united front against Iran (not to mention similar effort regarding Iran’s Latin American allies), improved Iran-Syria relations should not necessarily be considered as a net loss for the US, particularly if Damascus has a moderating influence on Tehran.

Much depends on the nature of the Middle East peace process and the growing signs of trouble between Israel and Lebanon’s Hezbollah – as well

as Hamas in Gaza, whose military commander was assassinated by Israeli agents in Dubai in January.

On the eve of the IAEA meeting, both Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the head of Iran’s parliament (Majlis), Ali Larijani, made forceful statements against nuclear weapons, aimed at further assuring the outside world that Iran’s nuclear program has a peaceful purpose.

Khamenei threw a jab at Amano by criticizing his report on Iran (which was leaked a few days ago) as one influenced by the enemies of Iran, while Larijani in his Japan visit last week invited his hosts to an international conference on disarmament.

In his speech on Monday, Amano, who has been in the job since December, defended his report. “It is longer than previous reports because I wanted my first report to be a stand-alone document,” he said. “I tried to make it factual, without overdoing the detail.”

However, the report’s uncritical adoption of certain information raises questions over Amano’s objectivity, given that in his first press conference after assuming the IAEA’s mantle he readily admitted that there was no evidence of weaponization on the part of Iran.

On Monday, Amano repeated that after extensive IAEA inspection of Iran’s facilities: “The agency continues, under its Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement with Iran, to verify the non-diversion of declared nuclear material in Iran, but we cannot confirm that all nuclear material in Iran is in peaceful activities because Iran has not provided the agency with the necessary cooperation.”

Responding to Amano’s request, Mottaki in his press conference promised “full cooperation”.

The stage is now set for a meaningful multilateral dialogue on Iran’s nuclear program that may result in a mutually acceptable deal that would represent a modified version of the initial “fuel swap” agreement unveiled last October.

Words That Are Laid Out To Describe An End Time Mystery!

I Corinthians 15:51,52 – Behold, I SHEW (LEGO) you a MYSTERY; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, [52] In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the LAST (HESCHATOS) trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

SHEW – LEGO – This is the only place in the Bible that LEGO is translated as SHEW. LEGO means “to lay out before.” In this context it would mean “to lay out before the listener in words.”

LAST – HESCHATOS – In reference to time, it means the last thing that completes an action or event. The use of the word, in this context, means that other trumpets had sounded before it, probably in a lengthy series, for if there had only been say one, two, or three, then saying the second or third would have been the normal pattern exhibited in scripture, such as the second or third woe in Revelation.

Paul was “laying out with words” the events of a MYSTERY that would be FULFILLED when the LAST TRUMP sounded.

More than 20 years after Paul’s death, John described the FINISH of the MYSTERY that Paul had previously LAID OUT WITH WORDS, which described some of the events associated with it.

Revelation 10:7 – But in the days of the VOICE of the SEVENTH angel, when he shall BEGIN to sound, the MYSTERY of God should be FINISHED, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

When the LAST TRUMP, in a series of seven trumpets, BEGINS to sound, the MYSTERY

of God will be the action that COMPLETES the gathering of all the saved into a place we call heaven. For the first time all the saved will be in heaven, gathered from the earth,

both the dead and the living.

Revelation 11:15 – And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

Christ will descend with the VOICE of the archangel, which I believe to the highest angel in the seven trumpet series, whose sounding begins the final action Paul LAID OUT IN WORDS, and then John announced its TIME OF COMPLETION when the SEVENTH TRUMPET SOUNDS.

I Thessalonians 4:16,17 – For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the VOICE of the archangel, and with the TRUMP of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: [17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

The completion of the MYSTERY will place all of the saved of all the ages before the judgment seat of Christ in heaven, while the ones who morally corrupted the earth feel the wrath of the seven vials poured out on the earth.

Revelation 11:18 – And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which DESTROY the earth.

The very fact that the saved will not suffer the wrath of God’s seven vials is a very comforting thought.

I Thessalonians 4:18 – Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

I Thessalonians 5:9 – For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

Now consider the last phrase found in Revelation 11:18, “Them with DESTROY (DIAPHTHEIRO) the earth” – The Greek word translated “destroy” is “diaphtheiro,” which literally means “to make rotten to the core.” At one time I thought this meant they had, and were, in the process of physically destroying the earth because that is the common usage of the English word “destroy,” so I did not even bother to examine the Greek meaning for the word “diaphtheiro.” Since doing so I have changed my mind. I now believe it means they have been, and still are, “morally” corrupting the earth as lost men and women, and that God’s wrath will be poured on them as the consequence of rejecting his Son, while all of the saved are being judged in heaven.

DESTROY – DIAPHTHEIRO – to corrupt throughout, to bring to a worst state of depravity, to make rotten to the core.

The word can be used to mean a physical destruction of the earth or a moral destruction of the earth, so one does have a choice, and I have chosen to interpret a double use of the same word in Revelation 11:18 to be the physical destruction of those morally destroying the earth by the one who created the

earth. The same word is translated as “corrupt” in other Scriptures in the New Testament, inferring moral or spiritual adultery – One by Paul, inferring spiritual adultery for false teaching concerning the proper way to worship God, is found in I Timothy 6:5 – Perverse disputings of men of CORRUPT minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

The following Scriptures show when the saved are going to be caught out in proximity to Revelation events, but no one at the present time knows when the sounding of the seventh trump will occur. When it does occur, all the saved will be taken up to heaven to be judged for the works done in their bodies for rewards, or the lack of them.

For the first time since God created man, all the believers of God’s kingdom will be in heaven in body, soul, and spirit, and all the lost will be in, and on, this present earth.

Revelation 11:15,18 – And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. [18] And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

“And the nations were angry” – But Armageddon is five chapters away – Revelation 16:16 – And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

“And thy wrath is come” – God’s wrath does not come until the saved have been caught out – I Thessalonians 5:9 – For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

“And the time of the dead” – The saved dead experience resurrection and living saved are instantly changed – I Corinthians 15:51 – Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

I Thessalonians 4:16,17 – For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: [17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

“That they should be judged” – The saved of all the ages are judged by the PROMISED SEED in heaven – Genesis 3:15 – And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her SEED; IT shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise HIS heel.

“And that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great” – The saved are judged by Christ for the works they performed in their bodies, whether they were wrought by and in Christ, or by the old fleshly nature – II Corinthians 5:10 – For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Galatians 6:7 – Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Revelation 22:12,14 – And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

[14] Blessed are they that DO his commandments, that

they may HAVE RIGHT to the tree of life, and may ENTER IN through the gates into the city.

Revelation 21:7 – He that overcometh shall inherit ALL things; and I will be his God, and he shall

be my son.

The real question that a believer needs to consider, after becoming the child of God through faith in his Son Jesus, is simply this: How much am I going to submit myself to the indwelling Spirit of Christ, to let him continue what he has started, once again overcoming the world, but this time he overcomes it in me. The degree to which you allow him to again overcome in you determines two things: (1) Whether you receive ALL of the reward he has waiting for you at his Son’s judgment seat, and (2) How close a relationship you will have with him in heaven, that is to say, where you abide in heaven in proximity to where he positions himself. All the saved remain forever in heaven, and all will be happy in glorified bodies, but those who served him after salvation will be happier than

all the many that did not. Salvation is by grace through faith, and once it is received it is eternal, and does not need works to maintain it, but make no mistake, our salvation is a workmanship of the Spirit of God, and he created us for the purpose of being able to perform his works of his Spirit, and if we do not, we will be judged by Christ for not having done so.

Ephesians 2:8-10 – For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast.

[10] For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that WE SHOULD WALK IN THEM. Ephesians 3:21 to 4:4 – Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. [4] I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that YE WALK WORTHY of the vocation wherewith ye are called, [2] With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; [3] Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. [4] There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

Ephesians 2:22 – In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

Revelation 3:4 – Thou hast a FEW names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall WALK WITH ME in white: for they ARE WORTHY.

NASRALLAH COMES OUT OF HIS RATHOLE FOR A BIT OF CHEESE

Two very important councils have been held in the last few days. The first was held in Damascus, and the second was held in Tehran. Those invited were the ones who wear black hats like the bad guys

in cowboy movies.

The final planning phase of the last war of this age has now begun in the Middle East.

Iran is getting all the Jihad enthusiastic groups together to have a united plan of reaction to an attack on its nuclear facilities. Since most of the world’s nations would love to see Iran’s nuclear bomb development stopped, it is far from certain that anyone would do anything to Israel if it wiped out the nuke sites, and it is quite possible it would not result in a full blown Middle East War. So Iran and all their good buddies need to know what they should do if Israel hits Iran’s sites. That is what I mean by “short” war planning. I don’t think Iran and Syria want a genuine war until Iran has deterrent nukes and American troops are withdrawn. But make no mistake, when those two criteria are met, both Syria, Iran, Hizbullah, Hamas, and all those like them, do want a violent war to eliminate Israel. This requires “long’ range planning.

Feb. 26, 2010 The Hezbollah owned and controlled Lebanese TV station al Manar reported the first visit by Nasrallah to Damascus for many years. Since the conflict with Israel in 2006 he has been a virtual recluse for fear of Israel assassination attempts.

He normally appears only via a large video screen from a secret studio and rarely in public at all.

Iran and Syria have both supported his organization with money and arms despite U.N. Security Council resolution 1701 imposed to prevent Hezbollah rearming.

But there has been a steady flow of arms shipments including thousands of Iranian-made rockets to replenish those fired in 2006 at the towns and cities of northern Israel.

Lebanese defense sources estimate Hezbollah now boasts between 40,000 and 50,000 rockets including long range missiles capable of striking much deeper into Israeli territory.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad also met Thursday with leaders of several different Palestinian factions based in the Syrian capital and yet again made threats against Israel.

“This criminal regime is doomed and the grand victory is imminent,” he said.

Iran will chop off its attackers’ hands

Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has summoned all the terrorist groups Tehran sponsors – Islamist and radical Palestinian – for a broad gathering Saturday, Feb. 27, to finalize their roles in military operations against Israel in the event of a Middle East conflagration. This is reported by debkafile’s Iranian and intelligence sources.

It will be the sequel to

the preliminary discussions Ahmadinejad held with Syrian president Bashar Assad and heads of the Lebanese Hizballah and Palestinian Hamas Thursday, Feb. 25, during a brief visit to Damascus.
The guests of honor at the Tehran parley will be Hamas leader politburo chief Khaled Meshaal and Hizballah deputy leader Naim Kassem.

The Lebanese Shiite group’s secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah will not be there because he never leaves his Beirut bunker for fear Israeli assassins will catch up with him, especially since the high-profile Hamas official Mahmoud al-Mabhouh was killed mysteriously in Dubai last month.

And Nasrallah is not alone; some of his fellow terror chiefs hesitate to show their faces outside their strongholds – even in friendly Tehran – since the Dubai police disclosed that three of the suspects in the Mabhouh killing, carriers of Australian passports, departed Dubai for Iran. They were said to have travelled by sea ferry to Bandar Abbas, central headquarters of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, before flying out of Tehran international airport to unknown Far East destinations.
The Arab terrorist chiefs infer that even the Iranian capital and Revolutionary Guards headquarters are no longer secure against penetration by the Hamas commander’s assassins.

The Iranians have therefore decided that their official statement on the conference, due to end Monday, March 1, will name only a few of the participants; the presence of many other key figures will be kept secret.

According to debkafile’s Iranian sources, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, assisted by a large team of aides, will lead the proceedings and steer them toward conclusions and decisions in line with Iran’s regional goals. The conference, called to pull together Iran and its allies’ preparations for war with Israel, will be presented officially as an effort to reconcile the feuding Palestinian factions.

Few will find this believable, especially when Hamas attends the conference on its own, except for several radical Palestinian splinter groups, and representatives of the rival Fatah and Palestinian Authority were not invited.

Presidential bureau personnel have performed most of the staff work on planning and the roles assigned the various organizations in any conflict with Israeli and/or Israeli forces. Senior members of the Revolutionary Guards and other sections of Iran’s armed forces will be recruited to chair discussion panels and subcommittees aided by specialists in guerrilla and terror warfare.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei met Hamas Politburo Chief Khaled Mashaal Saturday and told him that the liberation of Palestine will only be achieved through further resistance.

“Palestine will be liberated through the Palestinian people’s tough resistance and unity among jihad groups. Those who support Zionism will be shamefully ushered off the stage of history and departing with a tarnished image,” Khamenei said during the meeting, which was also attended by Ahmad Jibril, secretary-general of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and Islamic Jihad Secretary-General Ramadan Shallah.

The three terror leaders arrived in Iran in order to participate in a conference supporting the Palestinians. On Thursday, they met in Damascus with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who said that Israel “was doomed” and urged them to remain alert to

the possibility of an Israeli strike.

Ahmadinejad concluded his visit in Syria Friday after meeting with Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah and Syrian President Bashar Assad.

“The Zionist regime fears the resistance, the Lebanese people and the region. Its recent threats point to its weakness,” the Iranian president told Nasrallah.

At this time, Iran is believed to be trying to encourage Palestinian terror groups to act against Israel and is interested in boosting its anti-Israel alliance with them.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Sunday said that the existence of “the Zionist regime” is an insult to humanity, according to Iranian news agency IRNA.

Ahmadinejad made his remarks at a conference called “National and Islamic Solidarity for the Future of Palestine” where he declared Israel the reason for instability in the Middle East.

The Iranian leader said Israel’s presence on even one inch of the region’s soil was a cause for crisis and war, adding that the only way to confront Israel is through the resistance of Palestinian youth and other nations in the region.

Iran further consolidated its anti-US coalition and honed its hard edge against Israel this week with two important defense treaties signed with Syria (covering Lebanon) and Qatar, home to the biggest US air base outside America. These treaties opened doors for Iranian troops to be stationed in all three countries. According to debkafile’s military sources, they are already present in Syria and Lebanon.

On this high note, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Syrian president Bashar Assad and Hizballah chief Hassan Nasrallah, Thursday, Feb. 25, wound up their talks in Damascus – to which Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal was co-opted – on joint military preparations for a Middle East war.

That day too, Israel completed a five-day command exercise against a possible four-front assault by the Tehran-led coalition.

Our sources reveal that after his talks, the Shiite Iranian president make the extraordinary gesture towards the Arab countries he is wooing of attending a two-hour prayer session with Assad at a Sunni mosque in Damascus.

Asked about his Shiite sensitivities, Ahmad said, “We are all one Ummah.”

Together with Nasrallah, the pair later appeared before the press to scoff at US policies, celebrate their friendship and predict Israel’s early annihilation, the day after U.S.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told a U.S. Senate subcommittee the United States had recently urged Syria to “begin to move away” from Iran following the appointment of its first ambassador to Damascus in five years.

Ultimately, she said, the United States expects Assad to curb his ties with Iran and his support for militant groups like the Lebanon-based Hezbollah and Hamas, based in the Gaza Strip.

Assad drew laughs when he told the correspondents that he and Ahmadinejad had just signed “a separation accord, but because of a bad translation “we ended up signing an accord scrapping visas.

DEBKAfile’s military sources report that this clause facilitates the passage of Iranian military into Syria and between Syria and Lebanon.

The Iranian president suggested jocularly that “no-one had enlightened her” about the depth of Iranian-Syrian relations and called on the United States to “pack up and leave the region.” “A new Middle East – one without Zionists and imperialists – was quickly emerging,” he said.

Assad expressed Syria’s full support for Iraq’s uranium enrichment activities. “To forbid an independent state the right to enrichment amounts to a new colonialist process in the region,” he said.

In Doha, Iran’s defense minister Gen. Ahmad Vahidi and Qatari chief of staff Gen. Hamad bin Ali Attiya put their signatures Wednesday, Feb. 24 to military contracts providing for “the exchange of technical and expert delegations, the expansion of cooperation in personnel training and joint campaigns against terrorism and elements behind regional insecurity.”

This language covers the dispatch of Iranian officers and soldiers to Doha, a sight the US and Saudi Arabia hoped never to witness. The “elements behind regional insecurity” refer to the United States and Israel.

The big US air base was established at Al Udeid, Qatar, to keep the Persian Gulf and its oil resources safe and curb Iranian expansion.

That its rulers were now willing to host the Iranian defense minister and establish military ties with Tehran is another landmark in that expansion drive and a serious setback for America’s regional standing.

A pattern recognition algorithm can be applied to the seismicity of major earthquake belts, to the amplitudes of Chandler Wobble, to changes in the rotational velocity of the Earth, and to the drift of the eccentric geomagnetic dipole for the years 1901−64. The patterns which emerged suggest that all of these diverse phenomena are related.

The 2004 Indonesian Earthquake and Earth’s Rotation

Since the great 2004 Indonesian earthquake I have gotten numerous inquiries about whether the earthquake affected the earth’s axis.

What was affected was the so-called Chandler Wobble.

Objects that are not perfectly spherical do not rotate around a single axis. That’s just the laws of physics. I did the math in graduate school. Unless you know tensors, you don’t want to go there. Anyway, the earth doesn’t rotate smoothly around its axis, instead, the poles wander in rough circles about 10 meters in diameter. Another way to say it is your latitude changes a bit (0.7 seconds of arc) over a cycle of about a year. Anything that redistributes mass on the earth, even weather systems and the circulation of the oceans, can affect this wobble detectably. Think of a bunch of people on a merry-go-round all running over to one side. Since we can routinely locate ourselves nowadays to accuracies of meters, and precise surveys can

locate points to millimeters, we can detect even these tiny changes. What happened here was a big chunk of the northern Indian Ocean lurched northward 10-20 meters relative to Asia.

It also descended several meters into the mantle, and compressed and elevated northern Sumatra by several meters. It also likely triggered big submarine landslides that caused the tsunamis. So a fair amount of mass got redistributed. The U.S. Naval Observatory tracks this stuff and will tell you all you want to know about it, but I haven’t see anything posted about the big quake yet. However, the US Geological Survey posted this:

Question: What effect did this earthquake have on the rotation of the earth? Answer: Richard Gross at JPL has modeled the coseismic effect on the Earth’s rotation of the December 26 earthquake in Indonesia by using the PREM model for the elastic properties of the Earth and the Harvard centroid-moment tensor solution for the source properties of the earthquake. The result is:

change in length of day: -2.676 microseconds

polar motion excitation X : -0.670 milliarcseconds

polar motion excitation Y: 0.475 milliarcseconds

Since the length of the day can be measured with an accuracy of about 20 microseconds, this model predicts that the change in the length-of-day caused by the earthquake is much too small to be observed. And, since the location of the earthquake was near the equator, this model predicts that the change in polar motion excitation is also rather small, being about 0.82 milliarcsecond in amplitude.

Such a small change in polar motion excitation will also be difficult to detect.

Note this is a calculation, not an observation. What it means is the day became shorter by 0.0000027 seconds (Great – I don’t have enough time as it is!). It will take about 1,000 years for that to throw the earth out of sync with clocks by one second, and other things like tidal friction will have much greater effects. The excitation is the motion of the actual pole, around which the earth is rotating at any given instant, compared to the “average” pole we use on maps and globes. One second of arc is 30 meters, or 3000 centimeters, so 0.8 milliseconds is 2.5 centimeters or about an inch.

How exactly did the earthquake change the earth’s rotation speed? It seems to have done so because the earthquake involved plate convergence, and effectively reduced the earth’s equatorial circumference by a few millimeters while pushing denser material into the earth, like an ice skater pulling in her arms. That would also reduce the earth’s equatorial radius a fraction of a millimeter. The overall fault slip was 10-20 meters, but some of that was directed north-south, so the east-west compression was smaller. The effect would be further reduced by the fact that the crust above the fault zone would have been uplifted, resulting in a bulge

that would somewhat offset the reduction in circumference.

Not all the local compression would affect the equator anyway, just like buttoning a shirt that’s too tight pulls your waist in a little, but not as much as the gap between the last buttons.

The Earth’s rotational properties are described by its moment of inertia, which is proportional to the square of its equatorial radius. The calculated change in rotation rate is about 3 x 10-11 of the length of the day, implying a similar change of 3 x 10-11 in the earth’s equatorial radius (about 0.4 millimeters) or about 2.4 millimeters (1/10 inch) shortening of the equatorial circumference.

No man can know the time the events of Luke 21:25,26 will actually BEGIN, only God knows, but I am of the opinion it is very likely to begin at some point in time between 2010 and 2015.

Luke 21:25,26 – And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; [26] Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

The world is nearing the time of the great shaking described by the prophet Haggai. I believe the events in December of 2004 in Southeast Asia where the preamble of God’s warning to mankind of what is likely to turn into a worldwide nightmare before 2015.

The current siege of major earthquakes, tsunamis, and typhoons that have raked American Samoa, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam, will end, and things will soon settle down for awhile, but the time is coming when a scenario will begin on a worldwide basis that will not subside, except

for brief intermittent relief, and the vicious cycle will continue for some three and one half years.

The current situation in the Middle East, the unstable world economy, the increase in earthquake and volcanic related phenomena, the rapidly declining morality on a worldwide basis, the ever increasing attack on the Bible and its validity, the attempt to remove anything which could be associated with God from public places, and a falling away from the truths once delivered to the first New Testament churches, has convinced me Haggai’s prophecy in Haggai 2:6-9 will soon be fulfilled. Soon the BRANCH, the root, the rod out of David, the man who is the Son of God, Jesus Christ will return to build the temple of Ezekiel 40 to 48.

HAGGAI 2:6 – For thus saith the Lord of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;

He will sit on the throne of David as both eternal Ruler and eternal High Priest, thereby combining the two offices that existed in the Old Testament structure of Israel, and he will rule over all the earth.

Zechariah 14:9 – And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one.

Christ is the sign that will be set among the nations of the earth at his Second Advent, and they will fill the millennial temple with glory by their obedience and the return of all Israelis to their homeland by whatever is left for transportation after the destruction of the great tribulation period.

Isaiah 66:19-21 – And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those that escape of them unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles. [20] And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the Lord out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the Lord, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the Lord. [21] And I will also take of them for priests and for Levites, saith the Lord.

HAGGAI 2:8 – The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the Lord of hosts.

The riches of the Gentile nations will pour into Israel for the 1000 years of his reign. Israel’s priesthood will be reestablished. Delegations from all nations will come to Jerusalem to worship at the feast of tabernacles.

Zechariah 14:14 – And Judah also shall fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the heathen round about shall be gathered together, gold, and silver, and apparel, in great abundance.

Isaiah 61:6 – But ye shall be named the Priests of the Lord: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.

Zechariah 14:16 – And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.

HAGGAI 2:9 – The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the Lord of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of hosts.

[9A] “The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the Lord of hosts.”

The instructions for the building of this great millennial temple are contained in Ezekiel 40 to 43, and Messiah’s entrance, after its completion, is predicted in Ezekiel 43.

Ezekiel 43:1-7 – Afterward he brought me to the gate, even the gate that looketh toward the east: [2] And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory.

[3] And it was according to the appearance of the vision which I saw, even according to the vision that I saw when I came to destroy the city: and the visions were like the vision that I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell upon my face. [4] And the glory of the Lord came into the house by the way of the gate whose prospect is toward the east. [5] So the spirit took me up, and brought me into the inner court; and, behold, the glory of the Lord filled the house.

[6] And I heard him speaking unto me out of the house; and the man stood by me. [7] And he said unto me, Son of man, the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel for ever, and my holy name, shall the house of Israel no more defile, neither they, nor their kings, by their whoredom, nor by the carcases of their kings in their high places.

[9B] “And in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of Hosts.”

It will amount to a peace of a thousand years to Israel and all the Gentile nations. Israel will be a blessing to all the Gentile nations.

Isaiah 66:12-14 – For thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees. [13] As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem. [14] And when ye see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the Lord shall be known toward his servants, and his indignation toward his enemies.

It would be wise for all believers to worship him today in one of his local churches before his second coming!

I Timothy 3:15 – But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest TO BEHAVE thyself in THE HOUSE OF GOD, WHICH IS THE CHURCH OF THE LIVING GOD, the pillar and ground of the truth.

Philippines alert for super-typhoon

The Philippine president, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, has declared a nationwide “state of calamity” as it braces for the arrival of a powerful super-typhoon, just days after another storm caused the country’s worst flooding in decades.

Thousands of Filipinos on the main island of Luzon have been ordered to evacuate as Typhoon Parma approached the archipelago, bringing more heavy rain and strong winds.

Forecasters have warned that Parma, a category five storm, will hit the islands on Saturday.

Arroyo’s state of calamity decree will allow local governments access to emergency funds for relief work, her spokesman said, adding that several parts of the country were already under a state of calamity following last week’s storm.

She has also ordered officials to carry out evacuations by force if necessary.

The evacuations come as millions or survivors struggle to cope with the aftermath of tropical storm Ketsana, which flooded large parts of the capital, Manila, and left nearly 300 people dead.

Several areas of the city remain under water almost a week after the storm hit. Ketsana struck the Philippine last Saturday, and strengthened to a typhoon before battering Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos where it caused more flooding and left dozens dead.

Indonesian quake toll climbs to 1,100

Across this coastal provincial capital, hardest hit by the latest earthquake to devastate Indonesia, mourners, survivors and rescue workers alike clawed through the rubble.

Some, like Malina Utami, had already realized the worst.

She was just looking for the shoes missing from her dead daughter’s body, found in the rubble of a four-story school that was flattened within seconds.

As the death toll climbed Thursday – to 1,100 by one UN estimate – others looked for survivors, with thousands of people missing and feared trapped in the wreckage of shattered buildings.

When search efforts were suspended for the night, an eerie quiet fell over the city of 900,000.

“Let’s not underestimate. Let’s be prepared for the worst,” President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said in the capital, Jakarta.

Wednesday’s 7.6-magnitude earthquake started at sea and quickly rippled through Sumatra, the westernmost island in the Indonesian archipelago.

Indonesia sits on a major geological fault zone and experiences dozens of quakes every year. A 6.8 magnitude quake shook Sumatra on Thursday but there were no reports of deaths. Both quakes originated on the fault line that spawned the 2004 Asian tsunami that killed 230,000 people in a dozen nations.

Wednesday’s quake was the deadliest since May 2006, when more than 3,000 people died in the city of Yugyakarta.

Somoa: Search continues as more aid arrives

Samoans searched flattened homes and debris-filled swamps Thursday as more military ships and planes began arriving on the disaster-stricken Pacific islands after an earthquake and tsunami that killed at least 150 people.

The day after the disaster struck, officials were expecting the death toll to rise as more areas were searched – a process that could take several weeks.

A Navy frigate carrying two helicopters and medical supplies arrived late Wednesday in American Samoa, and the Air Force dispatched two cargo planes. Australian officials said they will send an air force plane carrying 20 tons of humanitarian aid.

“This is a devastating earthquake and a devastating tsunami,” Federal Emergency Management Agency coordinating officer Kenneth Tingman told reporters in American Samoa. A magnitude-8.0 quake struck off Samoa at 6:48 a.m. local time (10:48 a.m. PDT) Tuesday. The islands soon were engulfed by four tsunami waves 15 to 20 feet high that reached up to a mile inland.

Samoan Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele’s own village of Lesa was washed away – like many others on Samoa and nearby American Samoa and Tonga. On Wednesday, he inspected the southeast coast of the main Samoan island of Upolu, the most heavily hit area. He described seeing “complete” devastation. Dazed survivors told of being trapped underwater or flung inland by the tsunami.

Tuilaepa said the death toll in Samoa was 110, mostly elderly and young children. At least 31 people were killed on American Samoa, Gov. Togiola Tulafono said. Officials in the island nation of Tonga said nine people had been killed.

Samoan police Cmdr. Lilo Maiava predicted the toll would rise.

“It may take a week, two weeks or even three weeks” to complete the search for the many people still missing, he said.

Rescue workers are scrambling to reach people trapped in collapsed buildings in Chile following an earthquake

But while firefighters were busy trying to find survivors, police were struggling to control looting.

One person was shot dead and at least 160 arrests were made in Concepcion, the city closest to the epicentre, after Chilean president Michelle Bachelet called in the troops to enforce a curfew.

She said the government was sending emergency food and medicine supplies

and the UN had responded to an appeal for international aid.

But Prof Eduardo Aundez, said: ‘I feel abandoned by the authorities. We believe the government didn’t take the necessary measures in time, and now supplies of food and water are going to be much more complicated.’

Around 1.5 million Chileans were affected by the 8.8 magnitude quake, which caused buildings and roads to collapse

and left 500,000 homes severely damaged.

Many people were still missing in some communities in the worst-hit central region of Chile, which remained largely cut off by mangled highways and fallen telephone lines.

But rescuers were reportedly making good progress in locating people trapped in a 15-storey tower block in Concepcion. They drilled holes through the thick walls of the toppled building after hearing survivors knocking inside.

Eight bodies were recovered but 25 people were pulled out alive.

Efforts to determine the full scope of the destruction have been hampered by a string of aftershocks but risk assessor Eqecat has put the cost of the damage at £19 billion – equivalent to about 15 per cent of Chile’ s gro

Earth’s Groaning and Travailing Will Soon Accelerate!

I have been consistent from my first book to the last in the insistence that there would be an increase in natural disasters in advance of the tribulation period, and that the increase would show a massive acceleration across the earth following the first great earthquake found in Revelation 6:12, which begins the last 1260 days of the tribulation period.

Revelation 6:12 – And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

In my last book of the early eighties, “Tribulation Birth Pangs from the Bottomless Pit,” I titled chapter 1, “The Birth Pangs”, and began it as follows:

Romans 8:19,22 – For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. [22] For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

Before the sons of God appear in glorious manifestation on the millennial earth, there is to be a groaning of God’s creation, and the earth will travail like a woman experiencing birth pangs. Birth pangs were occasionally felt in the earth’s crust by seismic shakings during the time of Paul’s writings, but Matthew indicated they would increase noticeably, even before the tribulation period, in a period of time identified as “the beginning of sorrows.”

Matthew 24:7,8 – For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. [8] All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Please allow me to continue discussing this acceleration of groaning by a crust that has been producing great groaning sounds for a very long time as its plates slid by one another to produce earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and tsunami.

Romans 8:22 – For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

The word translated “creation” is “ktisis,” which means “all that which was created,” and, in this context, refers to all that God created, including the earth, all that is on it and in it.

The last massive groaning and travail in pain by earth occurred when man had reached such a state of utter degradation in ungodly immorality that God deemed it necessary to bring judgment on the human race, and he did it by using his creation, the earth, to bring it to pas

God used his earth to destroy man who dwelt on it – He destroyed man with the earth.

Genesis 6:5,13 – And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. [13] And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I WILL DESTROY THEM WITH THE EARTH.

My comments on this verse, which I placed in “The Key of the Bottomless Pit,” more than 25 years ago, and the one which follows it, are quoted from an extract from the book as follows: (Begin Quote from Book)

“We are told repeatedly in the New Testament, “as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the days of the Son of man.” Please recall the magnitude of this first great tribulation in which only eight people survived, the rest being destroyed by water. Please observe in verse 13 that God, not man, did the destroying (I will destroy); and please note it was not done with man’s help or technology (with the earth). God used his own natural creation to destroy sinful mankind with water. How did God being it to pass? The answer is found in Genesis 7:11,12.

Genesis 7:11,12 – In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep BROKEN UP, and the windows of heaven were opened. [12] And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

Most biblical references of today positively identify the “great deep” of verse 11 as the crustal surface of the earth that underlies the seas and oceans of the world. May I remind you that God created the crust of the earth long ago and is able to manipulate it as he pleases.

Virtually all references identify “windows of heaven” as the atmosphere of the earth, which was also a previous creation of God. So God took two things he has already created and manipulated them to bring forth water from above and below to destroy sinful mankind.

In the approaching Great Tribulation Period, God will once again manipulate the crust and its atmosphere to bring forth not water, but rather fire from below and from above. During the pages that follow, I will show that God intends to shake the earth to its geological foundations by his great power, and the results of that shaking will be the fulfillment of most of the destructive prophecies uttered by the revelator John and the Old Testament prophets concerning the last years of this age.” (End Quote from Book)

The soon coming tribulation period will see the greatest groaning and travail of the earth that has ever occurred since God placed man upon it.

Matthew 24:21 – For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Revelation 16:18 – And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.

Romans 8:22,19 – For we know that the whole creation (ktisis) groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. [19] For the earnest expectation of the creature (ktisis) waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

The same Greek word, “ktisis” is used for “creation” and “creature.” In context it refers to all the things God created except man, and it is mankind that the rest of his creation is waiting to see manifested in glorified form, children of God in glorified bodies when Christ brings them back to earth at his Second Advent. The greatest massive groaning and travailing of the earth will occur during the last 1260 days of the tribulation period, which will be ended by the return of the saved to the earth at the Second Advent of Jesus. The massive local groaning and travailing of the earth’s crust that produced the tsunami in the East Indies is a forerunner of what we can expect on a worldwide basis during the great tribulation period. We have not yet entered into the tribulation period, but I do believe our entrance is just around the corner, not in the distant future.

The most important thing for a child of God is not to know WHEN it will occur, but to be ready now for its sudden arrival.

A child of God should want to have great rewards with Christ at his Second Advent. One surely needs to be in one of the Lord’s churches, and to be member who is watching for Christ’s coming in his lifestyle and work for Christ, as Jesus indicates in his warning to the church at Sardis. Men and women are not saved by their baptism, church membership, or works, but such things determine what you wear on the glorified body, and where you live relative to where the Lord positions himself in the millennium on this earth, and in the final kingdom on the new earth. I am saved eternally by grace through faith, but make no mistake, as one who is assured of living in heaven, I would be a spiritual fool if I did not follow my master’s example. He walked some 50 miles to be baptized by the proper authority, and, as the head and foundation of the first church, was faithful to death. Works by saved men and women determine what they wear and where they live after they have already arrived in heaven. You will not lose your inner garment, but you can lose your robe and your crown if you sow to the flesh rather than to the Spirit, who indwells you and tries to lead your saved soul in good works.

Ephesians 4:30 – And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Galatians 6:7 – Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

John warned the churches at Sardis and Philadelphia that lifestyles of individual church members would be manifested by the outer appearance of what they would be wearing one day in heaven.

Revelation 3:2-4 – Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.

[3] Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and

thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. [4] Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.

Revelation 3:11 – Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

His warning to the church at Laodicea is also for the entire church and the individual members of it. Most of the Lord’s churches today are in the spiritual condition of the church at Laodicea.

Revelation 3:14-22 – And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; [15] I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. [16] So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my m

outh. [17] Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: [18] I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. [19] As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. [20] Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. [21] To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father

in his throne. [22] He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto

the churches.

Faithfulness in one of the Lord’s local churches will be manifested by the outer apparel he or she wears forever in heaven. Hopefully, this horrible tsunami in the East Indies may wake up some spiritually sleeping members to a more zealous service to God before the really great tsunamis of the tribulation period begin. Please take a look at the following Scriptures and ask yourself: How glorious will I appear in heaven?

I Corinthians 15:51,52 – Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, [52] In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Daniel 12:3 – And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

Race to save Sumatra quake buried

Rescue teams have resumed the desperate search for survivors following a devastating earthquake on the Indonesian island of Sumatra.

Many people are thought to be trapped under rubble after the 7.6-magnitude quake struck on Wednesday.

The death toll already stands at more than 1,000, according to the UN, and officials say they expect it to rise.

On Friday, Indonesian Health Minister Siti Fadilah Supari appealed for foreign aid to help the rescue effort.

“We need help from foreign countries for evacuation efforts,” AFP news agency quoted her as saying.

“We need them to provide skilled rescuers with equipment. Our main problem is that there are a lot of victims still trapped in the rubble.

We are struggling to pull them out.”

The quake struck close to the city of Padang, the capital of West Sumatra province, bringing scores of buildings crashing to the ground.
